B20A, servo brakes, M40.... starts and runs...
Ignition has to be re-tuned, no biggy.

Spare parts...... :-D
Good stuff:
-engine is good (B20A), converted to lead-free gas.
-Locari inner front fenders from new, so no rust in the front area
-already fixed rear wheel wells etc. :-D
-lowered :-P
Brakes, electrics and suspension is ok. Interior removed but it comes with the car.
Bad stuff:
-engine bay not re-sprayed
-rust under doors (but comes with 2 extra doors that are good)
-rust under seats (?)
-bumpers are bad but there are some spare parts for them with the car.
I still need to pick it up, probably this weekend! Maybe its much worse than described in the addy, but i doubt that, the seller was nice and has a good feedback...
The 240 turbo project is more important but this Amzon was quite cheap so i couldnt pass it up.
Let me know what you think of it! :)

Holy ****, that's awesome. That's going to be a fun project right there. Not too shabby. What are your plans for it?

Dang car companies that don't import cool stuff over here. Never seen a 70 before.
Looks like a cool project!

yeah too bad volvo didnt export the last Amazons to the usa...
This week i am gonna pick it up
Then for 2 months i'll leave it in the garage, i have lots of work to do for uni.....
After that the plan is to fix the rust, check and repair other things (steering, suspension, brakes, engine, interior). Most important is to fix the rust and to give the engine a tune-up
Maybe later on i'd like 164 brakes (?), nicer steelies, better paint etc.
I have a spare B230F and M47 after my 240 B230FT+M90 swap, then add a nice cam and some other goodies.. maybe maybe.... but im thinking of keeping it original with some period mods... (B20E head (?), nice header+exhaust, nice carbs etc etc)

I got very tempted by an almost identical car (and situation, by the sounds of things) the other week...but it got pulled off eBay.
cheers

Yeah we stopped getting them in 1968. That car looks to be a very nice project that you'll be able to drive and enjoy without too much work. I like the clutch cable and brake booster design that it's using. Mine is the same dark green. Good find!

Excellent find... the 1970 factory equipment is definitely a bit nicer than the 1966 that I have... Have fun in the restoration!
Have you already made some pictures having the car in your garage?

Leather interior... never seen that in a Amazon. Driver seat bottem part leather cushion is with the car as well.

Engine. Normal B20A, unknow milage, but runs great. really peppy, wants to rev!. One of the previous owners had fitted a Simons exhaust and wider rims and some other 'tuning' stuff, but most of those things were removed. Maybe he added a nice cam?
Engine has a cylinder head with hardned valve seats, so it runs on lead-free petrol.

nice car, should make for a fun project. just get rid of that rust, stat. ;-)

yeah the rust is the problem :-P
luckily i have a MIG/MAG welding course, TIG-welding course and a course in metal-working under my belt.. should come in handy!
The car has had (extra) locari inner fenders on the front for most of its life, according to the previous owner. i hope that the front sheet metal is OK, i couldnt check it yesterday. It sounds good when i hit it with a hammer, only a bit of surface rust under the hood.
Some holes in the floor, some rust on the a-pillars, some rust under the roof trim, some rust and holes in the rear fender... and really rotten away beams under the front seats and the metal under the doors, but that metal is just cosmetical, non supporting... (http://jw.cautela.nl/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2253)
the plans for the suspension is just a complete replacement of bushings (poly!) and joints and re-paint. If the shocks are shot they will be replaced as well..
Maybe better brakes as well, im not sure what will work.. (164 brakes? 240 calipers?)
engine should be tuned a bit as well but thats only done when i have enough money left.... :-P

uh this doesn't look good..........

too much rust :-(
When removing some more body panels almost every piece of metal had holes rusted in it and dodgy repairs everywhere.
I tuned the ignition by hearing, removed the exhaust and filled her up with some fresh petrol and we took her for a spin through the fields. that was fun :-D
More pics of the disassembly can be found here (http://jw.cautela.nl/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2603)
This is looking better!

a 1968 chassis, (very) little rust! Just some holes in the floor and a few in the more important area's. And a bit of damage by a crash... :-(
But the price was right :-P

I hope someone else cleans up this mess for me....
