So, after much anticipation on my part, my painted valve cover arrived! Thanks to Ard for doing a smashing job with this.
Out with the old....

Seems that while adding my bling, I found a problem. Leaking coolant from the top of the water pump, not sure what that passage is. Someone enlighten me?

Well, I figured it was something like that, but I'd rather get input before jumping into something, ya know? I used to have a habit of leaping head first into a project that I didn't know enough about. Typically ended up giving myself more of a headache.
Is the scattered line at the edge of the lettering from their tape job or something intentional? I like the matching vc. The waterpump itself is going to have to be reseated.
nooooice. i love the glossiness, tight.

water pumps are easy, you shouldn't have a problem
IMO the volvo would look better if it were polished since the oil cap is polished/chrome

Tape job, but I like the look. Almost kinda...rustic. I think it says, "Hey, I'm hand-painted. Ph34r this."

I'm thinking of either blacking out that cap or painting it to match the vc. Haven't decided yet.
As for the water pump, it'll be a breeze. Just have to find the time.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Around the raised lettering it's really easy to screw up the tape job and get some paint to travel under the tape.

Its easy to get paint under there, but it also isn't hard to do it well enough so that doesn't happen.

Paint the cap gloss black to match the lettering. I love that color red with the black lettering. Very nice.

Ran wires from the relay to the temp sender in the radiator for the AC condenser fan. Took the fan out a while ago (doesn't get hot enough around here). The wires in loom coming off the fan go to a splitter where I can decide whether it uses the high or low speed setting.

Yea yea, I know, lol
