:-D The before picture wasn't even that bad, certainly better than my engine bay. But man, the blue valve cover and blue IC piping just sets it all off.
One thing I did that can help, give everything a good wash, and touch up some of the plastic elements.

Great work making that engine bay unblurry. I have to unblur mine sometime.
quick question...why blue? why didn't you try to match the exterior paint? 'course, my friends 244 has a red valve cover, calipers, bracing, and suspension parts, but his car is the shade of blue that you used.

Wow, that looks great. So you used a silver engine paint base and another coat of yamaha blue engine paint?

Probably for the contrast. Monochromatic is so...well so 80s...and so are the cars I guess, but still.
I've tried painting over engine paint before with bad results. The new paint makes the cured paint turn wet again and it comes off.

Looks nice! Just touch up the valve cover a little and you'll be in business!

That looks great! Just touch up a bit around the VOLVO area and perfect. I may have to do the same with mine when I paint the valve cover.
Because he liked the color...?
And I said it was awesome, I was just curious about it. It is a pretty shade of blue though, if you paint the whole car that color, I might have to steal it.
heh, you should try to do this scheme...
