i am letting it sit, to be more effective. also i have seafoamed many of cars and the longer you let it sit the better. i will drive it soon.:-P

i have had a lot worse, like it would be pure white smoke for 15 minutes. of me not giving it gas at all.

I'm not talking about the quantity of smoke, I'm talking about your method. Revving the hell out of your cold, seafoamy engine, doing it in a parking lot (avoiding the entertainment that is rolling smoke bombs), letting the seafoam sit (your rings must love you), etc. etc. etc.
As far as quantity and thickness of smoke goes; I've done rolling blackouts of whole neighborhoods before. The cars behind me had to pull over to let it clear.

cold engine? i just got back from driving about 30 miles, i only revved it to 3 k. doing it in front of my house is a no? seafoam hurts internals of the engine? i dont think so. ;-)

Why piss off your neighbors when you don't have to?
So you left the seafoam in the bores for a while? Changed your oil yet?

my neighbors dont mind, if they did they would approach me. i didnt put the seafoam in the crankcase, so i dont need to change the oil. if seafoam was harmful/ bad for your engine, than you would think it was state that on the can. if seafoam horribly deminishes the inerds of a engine, you think it would be off the shelf? i have not found anything on the seafoam website or on the back of my can, saying it hurts rings, and seals, and NOT TO LET IT SIT! so where are you getting the info on it being bad? im just curious, could you send me the link?

I'd wager your neighbors aren't stoked about you hooliganing it up in the front yard though. Whooooe I tell you whut.
Rings do not seal perfectly. Stuff you leave in the bores will make it's way into the crankcase.
:e-shrug: Who knows, maybe Seafoam's a great oil additive.
The can says to leave it 5 minutes.
So how'd you get it on the backside of the valves, or are you just cleaning the piston domes?

so even if a single drop of seafoam gets in the oil, i should change it like instanly? otherwise all the other oil is polluted and bad? the seafoam is cleaning whatever it wants. i have no power over that, wherever it gets it gets. so okay, even with the 5 minutes the can says let it sit,it can get anywhere it can with it sitting for an hour, or hell a week. so whats the deal? the way i got it on the backside of the valves are i opened my engine, and rubbed the seafoam on. again, i have no power of what it cleans when it is in the engine. where it goes it where it goes.

The generally recommended practice (at least by people here) is to seafoam the **** out of it, drive it hard, put it away wet, and change the oil almost immediately. The blowby of the combustion of the seafoam is the bad stuff. You don't think that some of that nasty nasty smoke crud doesn't get down into the crankcase? You sir, would be mistaken.
Just be safe and change it after you're done. Easy insurance.

Horse term...rode hard and put away wet...bad juju for the horse.
Term is sometimes used to describe members of the opposite sex ...

Your oil should be changed. If you don't want to change it, that's your choice. I would change the oil.

That is usually the only problem occuring in Volvo's. Other than that VOLVO 4 LIFE ;)

priceless embarassment!
that would have made me miserable for days!
but funny as hell!

Every top end cleaner in the world says to change the oil afterwards. Long before Seafoam, Yamaha was pushing a top end cleaner that does exactly the same thing for the most part. They said it was bad for seals too. :omg:
Oh, and next time you name the thread "engine fire", make sure we see some actual fire and carnage and scared white boys running around in circles not knowing what to do OK?
