At SS Automotive, we work on allot Volvos. Mostly repair but sometimes its performance work too. I found this gem on the internet for free! Itl make a great shop project car everyone can work on and enjoy + wont break the bank to get some real results with. We will go thru the interior, body, engine & drivetrain to make it nice! it currently totally lacks an exhaust manifold or turbo, the trans is fukt, the interior has its own "eco system" as pointed out by Dave, (I have bites to prove it) the thing makes your nose run and you want to sneeze just walking up to it if the doors are open. BUT I had the thing running again in under an hour and the motor runs great it just needs some, ok allot of attention.

Few of the parts for the project

Little more info, This car is somewhere beyond gross, apperantly it was purchased at auction about 3 years ago and the trans went out, the thing sat until now and somewhere in that time the turbo was robbed off of it. after reconnecting the oil cooler, and blocking the turbo oil feed line the car started right up with a jump and ran great (maf hooked to the intercooler) the outside and inside are dirty as hell but cleaned up nice. the seats cleaned up ok but the smell (mildew / mold) has remained. most of the interior is going to have to be trashed, including the dash, carpet. back seats (torn). Its a mess but i think itl be worth the effort.

Parts list for the project:
-flattened and ported manifold
-t3t4 turbo
-good used head
-ipd turbo cam
-ipd cam gear
-siemens deka 60# injectors
-fmic intercooler (stock) from a r33 skyline gtr
-megasquirt

I have a lead on some of the other parts needed. I will keep this thread updated as the project progresses.

it is amazing what people let sit and corrode... my buddy picked up a 1996 infiniti i30 that was sitting in a barn since 2002... that thing was gross and i couldn't believe someone would let that new of a car sit for so long

it just sat under trees for 3 years and enjoyed a leaking sunroof to fuel the GAH in the interior. the car really did kinda have its own ecosystem but its cleaned up quite well! the shop is located in the city off of commerce road. If anyone in the area wants to see the mess your welcome to stop by just give us a call at 804 307 7717 for directions n whatnot.

Yellowbrick was kind enough to make us a good deal on a parts car that had some of the parts needed for this car. the trans, rear seats, and some carpet bits. we went ahead and salvaged anything else we felt may be useful..... :omg:

All the hate! whats wrong with a little challenge? hehehe you guys would need to see the silver car in person to appriciate it, other then the dirt & mildew the car was really "clean" no major grease mess, no leaks, no current or evidence of past crash damage, the pinchwelds are still perfect (never jacked on wrong) almost EVERYTHING is there (cept under the hood) overall the car is in really good shape and well worth the work.

i got behind at the shop so i dont have any new progress to share but hope to have it on the road this week. any of you who happen to be from the richmond area are welcome to stop by and check it out!

EDIT (late) for the record, yea uhm we got side tracked and never got around to finishing this car. it got parted and crushed just like the doner car. DOH!
