I think I want to run the celica just cuz its the new car and I'm curious. turns out a need a batt strap for it too tho(:grrr: its always something aint it?)

I'll be making a stop at checker tomorrow to have them pull the battery and see what kind of strap might have been there OEM.

besides, if i run the wagon I need to put like 170miles on it before I run the gas tank low enough to warrant putting race gas in, and without the race gas my times are really going to be pitiful.

how do you know surface streets it is accurate? and @ the track tells you nothing ... when i cross the traps @ 100mph my speedo says 94mph, yet i have gone through the 'your speed is X' signs and my speedo is dead on up to 80mph(never tested higher haha)

either way just fix the volvo and drive that, @ least it stands a good chance of running a good time

well, the subie guy bought his car for autocross, but cant afford rcomps anymore to keep it up in the stock class. the other 2...they know what they're doing (thus the 240sx build from scratch...they're starting with just the shell) and also have the money to drive cars that are quick out of the box.

I have limited time...and I have to chose carefully where, when and how I spend my time. My opinion is that Volvo people are different. I may have an appreciation for other brands, but that appreciation ends after I turn the page. Chris, Mike, Harry, Felix, Amar (spelling?) Frankie, Leland, and Andy are guys who I have met at work days, at Firebird, AND I like. These events to me are an extension of TB...no real desire to hang with those that aren't members here....I have enough friends already...and me trying to act interested around makes I don't care about isn't going to happen. No disrespect to them or their cars...but to me...I'm just not interested...It's kind of like meeting you Elijah, I have been to 8? 10? work days/firebird event(s) and have never met you...you don't seem to make time to go where we meet...so why I would I even be interested in fitting other people into a peg? You fit in your own peg already...but at least you're on the site. I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

bottom water return line wants to occupy the same space as the wg actuator nipple. when I got the line off (with a razor blade...just thought it was on tight) I couldn't get it back on.

and then after undoing that line and nearly flooding my garage (well, not quite) i realized it was for that reason AND because its a tight fit...sooooooo, no wastegate.

first guy sprays oil for 1000 feet then hits the wall....that was and hour... lets say that was 8:30 to 9:30.

Runs for about an hour.

Second guy hits the wall at 10:40pm and Ursula and I left at that point.

yea evo toasted his trans right off the line ... like 45 mins for cleaup

a corrado toasted the clutch and took like 3 mins to do a 1/4 mile

dude w/ the Ultma GTR did a 2nd gear launch and got sideways. I hope to run into him more as he seems really cool, maybe i can also talk him into going EFI on that engine and making another 100hp haha


i saw we plan to go again semi soon as i would like to see the fwd run a few passes, plus we can go to just hang out and watch, and then leave for food early and not have to wait

yeah was a nice night to race besides the long ass lines and people blowin there 'ish up :)

wish i could have got 2 more runs on, as i was get .1-.2 faster each run.

pulled a 16.6@84, 16.5@82, and a 16.3@83 car really respondes well to the race gas. all the runs the car was running 12-13 psi, wanted to run 15+ and run with a better launch, but hey there is always next time.

by then i should have a 15g, 3" dp, NPR, and a few other goodies installed.......
