Okay Scamlandingham get off my back.. Here's the story. Driving down a windy country road alongside the Mattaponi river at approx 40mph.. I come around a curve and see a Exploder driving along about 10mph. I go to pass him on a double yellow and about the time I get into the oncoming lane he makes a left with no signal into a driveway that he's almost passed. I impacted them at about 25-30mph. Didn't do much damage to their car, as a matter of fact I repaired her car yesterday and she was extremely understanding about the whole situation after she realized I'd just built my car, so she offered to not involve the insurance and get me to repair her vehicle. I fixed her Exploder yesterday in about 30 minutes and had her happily on her way after signing a disclaimer to not involve her insurance or mine. I got pretty lucky on this one, which gave me time to think about the worst case scenarios and how I can avoid this in the future. Not following the basic rules can get you in trouble, dont drive like an ass!

bummer man:(
i have those recessed style single rounds on my 242 right now, I have a quad rectangle FH grill thats SUPPOSED TO BE on its way (3 weeks after i bought it on ebay...)
So if it comes in by the time i come down, they're yours.
If you need em...

Edit: if you had megasquirt, you car would probably not have been wrecked.

Fenderbanging, fingerbanging whats the difference? You're screwed either way. Good luck with the repair. Sounds like it could've been a lot worse.

Sucks man...

What I appreciate about this thread is that you're a man about your mistake and you aren't trying to blame it on someone else. I'm glad that there is no insurance involved and you were able to fix her car, that part is awsome.

So since the fender is damaged does this mean it's time to go widebody? lol

I guess I'll do the honors:

it'll buff out!:-P

Sucks man, I also enjoyed reading your project thread and I loved to see how the car evolved. Seeing what you did, you should have it back on the road soon. Good luck!

Damn that sucks Vince. But, I'm glad that it didn't turn into an insurance and police report hassle for you. Hope you get the parts to sort that out.

Plus one on Teh suck.

At least it looks pretty cosmetic in nature, not too much structural bendy bendy. The most important thing is you're alive and unhurt.

No more double yellow passes for you! :nono:

:)

M.

BTW I kinda like the little cowlicks on the back tips of the crunched flathood... It's like little trans am spoilers but for your hood!

So you spent all this time working on your car making into an awesome Volvo. Then decide you want to sell it after all that work and money?

When it rains it pours. Good thing my 240 hasn't been on the road lately.

i may haev a headlight or two laying around, not sure if they're any good but if you want em they're yours. I think I have two rights that are split apart and need to be glued back together or something leftover from one of the many front ends I put on 240's *shrug*

ouch! Hard to tell, but I'd say the drivers' side fender will probably be okay.

That's kind of like what I did, although that's some way gnarley fender damage and less radiator on top of motor.

Not too bad of a fix, even for a beginner like me....
