In lieu of the recent server issues our host is going to try and move us to a bigger badder beast of a box. (basically one that isnt having issues)
Please be patient. Thanks,

is it likely to be a smoove transition, or will there be a point when TB is offline for a while? I've been noticing little lagtimes and occasions when TB would "time out" and such...guess I wasn't the only one
Please be patient. Thanks,

Well, it can't possible be any slower than it has been lately for me, and I always thought it had something to do with my dial up connection, then I got cable.

it was giving me 'error posting' about 1/2 hr ago... see if I can post this one...
cool, looks like the last post in 'maintenance and nonperformance' was 'conceived' on Dec 31st, '69... when I was 1 yo  god, I've joined this board kinda late!
Soooo: let's talk Amazon gearing and 3-spd manuals issues :-D

Even now there are still some problems, like on the main forum index the
last post column for maintenance and performance, if you click on the
tiny view latest post it takes you into a thread in the forsale section.

I've noticed problems with the Time issues on the Index page.
For Example it is 8pm my time.
On the index page it says the last post in Showroom was at 2pm.
When you go into the showroom there is a post that was done at 7.55pm.
So thats what i've noticed.
I've tried refreshing the index page to see if that cleared the error but no luck.
Anyways the board is still working, but that is the errors/ glitches i've noticed.

Dana, unfortuneately, it looks like you are going to have some clean up to do. On the engine specs topic, I tried to reply; it came up as error in posting. I came back later; my reply had posted about 15 times. Sorry about that.
Thank you for your efforts.

Don't look at Dana, he has nothing to do with whats going on. Some information in the database got scrambled it looks like when they moved it. Not sure what it will take to repair it all, I'll talk to Dana later and see if there's any real damage or not.

this is what i noticed: after submitting my post, the 'error in posting' message came up.
I clicked next on 'TB Forum Index', then back to the thread I just posted to... and the post was there all right!
it seems it does this with certain threads only!

Hi
I posted 2 message in the maintenance & nonperformance the other night they were there when I logged off. I can't find them now. I have looked in both performance & modifications & maintenance & nonperformance. I can't seem to find them any where
The names of the post are(I think these name are close)
I have got lots of boost
Aftermarket thermo fans
I hope they are not lost for good as I don't want to type them again. I also changed my profile around the same time I don't know if this has been changed yet either

George, if you go to your profile and click on 'Find all posts by Aussie Volvo (http://forums.turbobricks.com/search.php?search_author=Aussie+Volvo)', do you still not see your last posts listed?
So far this is the 2nd worst crash of a message board I've seen, looks like the post data survived but the indexes were confused and/or replaced with older versions.

George -
No clue as to whether the posts are lost or not. I typed several long posts regarding business transactions that were lost also, and these are posts that sort of need not to be lost. I'm in a worse position, but as it stands there is little we can do. Dana is busy this weekend (Something about changing brakes on an Eclipse......poser) and there is little we can do without him or the (extremely) unlikely appearance of Garrett. As it stands, we're in a holding pattern until Dana finds out what is going on and perhaps he can fix it, I'll help him however I can, and hopefully get this all sorted out.

ok I just tried something in 'off-topic' - the 'vanishing point' thread: after clicking 'submit', the message 'error posting' came up. I clicked directly on the 'TB Forum Index', then back into 'off-topic'/'vanishing point'. My post is there, but it doesn't show like I posted anything in the main index (for instance: it shows dana's post for that thread as the last post, but myself and another tbrick member posted after dana!).
it seems like the server isn't processing the new postings in certain topics.

Hrm, After poking around and thinking for a bit, it seems that the issue isn't a matter of corruption but it looks like the boards are out of sync. They can simply be resynced from the administrator control panel. The only issue is having someone around to do it. Dana isn't around and Garrett isn't active anymore so that leaves us holding out until Dana can do it. Whether the posts are lost or not I can't tell, there is a chance they are still there. No gaurantee's though.

How long is this downtime going to last? I'm still getting "error in posting" messages.

All fixed. Im not sure what happened but a global repair on the mysql database seemed to have fixed the sync problem.
whats here is what we've got. Unfortunately teh host didnt notify me as requested so i could lock the board before moving... so anything you posted between that time the DNS change happened and the new server was up and running may have been posted to a non existing database. Sorry about that.
Enjoy the new server, should be better as far as random mysql errors.
