I'm looking into doing the B230 intake swap and need to know what part number would be stamped on the intake itself. I have one but am not sure if it's the right one. Can't post pictures either for some reason. Anybody know what I'm looking for?

What engine did it come from? I think basically any B230 volvo Redblock will have that intake manifold.

If it has injector bungs in the intake it should be a b230 intake manifold .... that is unless it has oval runners/ports then it is a b234 intake

it's not K-Jet if that makes any difference. I'm not sure which engine it came off of thus the reason for my question. I got the car when my best friend died last summer and he had a box of parts in his parents garage that I ran accross yesterday and it had the intake. I know he was planning to do the swap but was gone before he had all the parts. I have pic's on my computer I can email if it helps.
lOOKS LIKE IT'S LH JETRONIC..
Also, is this a good time to get rid of the k-jet and if so what else will I need to make it happen?

I'll take it that you've done the swap and thats a pic. The one I have looks like that but I'm not totally sure. Might anybody know what the numbers on the bottom side are for the intake I'm in need of?

As long as the style is the same as the picture, you're good. There aren't that many different intake styles. The KJet one, obviously, and then there's a B21F manifold that has a nice plenum design, but doesn't have EFI injector holes. The B230 and B23 (US markets) all had the intake you're looking for, if I recall correctly. It's the design in that picture. The only possible difference in some is that there were two styles of fuel rail, with different hold-down bolts. If you're using it on a KJet car, you won't care because the EFI injector holes will just be plugged.

There are a couple of versions of the electronic fuel injection manifold. Basically the difference is whether it was using a cold start injector or not. Most of the 80s versions don't have a cold start injector. But in 89 and newer for the 240 series they have been drilled for and use the cold start injector. So, there will be different numbers on each. However, they all look like the one in the photo above.

I forgot all about the cold start injector boss. That and the different style fuel rails (straight and shepard's crook) are the only differences I can think of, but they really don't make any difference on a KJet swap.

So whatever manifold he's got is probably fine.

At this point, can I upgrade to the LH? What would be involved in that and is it a better way to go? This is what I'm building towards-- strong DD that gets down at the drop of a hat and somewhere in the 225-250hp range. I'm going to do a full rebuild on the top and bottom, upgrade to a 15g or maybe a T3/T4 hybrid, 11psi BOV, 4" thick intercooler and 3" SS turbo back. Thats all I can gather at this point other than a hotter spark but I haven't figured out the way to go on that but I'm guessing that MSD does the trick. Any additions or changes to consider?
