Allright, it's not a turbo I know. But i'm going to share anyway.

The old engine was worn, had 300.000km on it and the carb wasn't working properly. My brother had a B230E from another project, and we decided to drop it in.
I've got an AW70 from a 245 that I salvaged, that's going in as well for maximum chill and cruisability.

The car:

The new engine:

Out with the old:

Old and the new.

Fairly empty engine bay:

Another one from the old one:

More to come soon!! And I've got to take the transmission off the original engine, to see if the seller said is true! It's still supposed to have the original clutch in it! 30years and 300.000km.

Update!

Since my 244 is probably one of the very earlier models, and those models didnt have the overdrive transmissions, the normal transmission mounts don't fit! :( No problem, just use the angle grinder and it'll work :p
So, after finding a suitable mount, my brother used the angle grinder, and made it fit. Then welded some new metal in, to keep it strong.

Since it had to be attached to the transmission as well, my brother built me a nice brace:

Okay, so that's sorted.

Next problem was, that I didn't have a complete fuelpump setup. We were missing one part of the mounting bracket. So, my genius brother came up with the following:

First, the pump, accumulator and one part of the mounting bracket:

And here is the new other half, unpainted:

And primered... yeah i know this color looks neat too, but after the primer it was painted black:

Soon we'll be able to connect the fuel pumps, put on some belts and make some new fuel lines.
We still need to make something to mount the speedometer cable.

I've got no idea about the brand of the vice, it's very good though, definatly worth the money ;)

very nice :-D

What kind of transmission mount are you going to use? I'm not familiar with the rubber mounts Volvo used there....

Nice work on the bracket for the fuel pump! the ridges made it nice and strong!

Oh and yeah, even with Kjet it is a very nice engine, 10.3:1 CR makes it pretty peppy afaik.

we're using this one:

http://www.bassius.nl/Pics/Motorswap/IMG_5645.jpg

As you can see it's got the 4 holes on top, that the red bracket on the transmission has on the down side. The little red bracket has 2 nuts welded in, that's where the mount is bolted on.

It's only got the 4 rubber parts that you can see on the endings where it's mounted on to the chassis, there isn't any space left to get more rubber between the mount and chassis. It's pretty solid, the transmission is fairly level, and with the mount bolted on it's very tight.
