Ok... so I'll start from the begining. This was my 82 244 that I owned since I was 17. This is the car that got me hooked on volvo's. I owned it for about 5 years, it was sitting on the side of the road at my house when some dumbass swerved into it. it was totaled and after a long figh with the insurance company I got a whopping 2k for it. I'm sure as you all know thats definatly not worth all the time we spend on these cars....

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/53307788.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/55708192.jpg

Found this nice little 242 on craigslist for exactly what the insurance gave me. actually bought it from a local turbobricker I did'nt know was local... anyway the car looked pretty unmolested, a nice complete 83 non IC with only 105k miles. had a little front end damage and an auto but both were fine by me cause already had a t5 and wanted to do a grp A front end on my next 240...
I definatly want to build this car for the track. dont care if its streetable. My in-laws live in mendocino county where there is no smog law and are letting me use their address for the title :) so it will be registered and able to drive on the street...
Everything posted has been done in about the last 4 months. I'm just getting around to starting a thread.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/86996422.jpg

Out with the old. I took every worthy part I could off the 244. The hour long tow to the scrap yard was sketchy...

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/73180434.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81415988.jpg

First day of fun. Things not shown: 32mm spacers for the rear, master cylinder, evil genius camber plates... The plan is to swap all the suspension first and get it turning good and worry about the motor later.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416431.jpg

500# front 300# rear with koni yellows in the rear and a shorter koni adjustable in the front with sleeves in the stock tubes...

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416428.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416434.jpg

The plan was evil genius camber plates but I added my own upper plates I cut out of 1/4" steel for on top. I had John do the welding.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81417679.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416437.jpg

Finished. the mounts are for a strut brace, when I get around to it.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416440.jpg

suspension finished. the wheels are 780 bertone's with 205/50 dunlops

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/81416443.jpg

So I had left the car alone for a few months. I was broke and bored so I decited to start stripping....

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642547.jpg

The unmolested car I had thought I had had in fact beed dicked with at some point in its life... The drivers side seat pan had been removed and it looks like a different seat bolted directly to the floor (maybe for a handicapped person or something???)
So when the car was sold from this person they tryed to copy what was originally there with some sheet metal, bracing and a rivet gun.. it looked like sh!t. so I had to replace it.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642390.jpg

Test fit cut from another 240...

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/86995752.jpg

On to the T5 tranny. Hoping to cure the loud wine and grinding going into 4th with a rebuild kit so I spent a day rebuilding...

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642450.jpg

Finished t5, JP aluminum flywheel, clutchnet clutch. Isaiah (Obeharskad122)? was kind enough to let me use his lift at his shop for the swap and welding my floor pan. if you are in the area and in need of some custom volvo work he is the man to go to.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642561.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642638.jpg

Came out pretty good. so I removed all the sound deadening with a heat gun. actually took 4 harbor freight guns to finish the job. They are crap. Thank god for their return policy...

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642673.jpg

Brake air ducts... not hooked up to anything yet

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/88642677.jpg

So thats how she sits at the moment. When I sell my Eikers I plan on buying some corbeau's with some side mounts.
Money is tight right now but I'd also like to get the cage built in the next couple months...
The tranny works for now but the gears were pretty worn which is whats causing all the noise so hopefully I'll come across a decent one someday.

Very nice progress I see. Thats cool how you cut out the seat pan and put in a correct cut out! The blue and your 780 wheels with the black inlay look really nice as well. They compliment your car a lot! I will certainly be following your thread!

So awesome. That color is incredible.

A few questions though:
1) Were the spacers to space out the Multi-X wheels?
2) The rivets on the sunroof. Any shots on the inside?

The 240's are narrow in the back with anything that has standard backspacing. Noah and I traded spacers since my 32's wouldn't fit with my 17x8's and his 25's weren't quite enough. Now we finally fill out the wheel wells.

glad to see you back, Noah. what wheels are on your 244 in the first pic?

noah244ti
11-09-2007, 08:45 PM
I dont have any pics of the underside of the moonroof but it was pretty basic. just a piece of aluminum with 2 holes connecting the 2 bolts from the bottom and nuts holding it all together... I'd really like to make a new moonroof shell out of fiberglass with a lip all the way around it so I could seal it with a gasket or something...

The wheels were borrowed from a friend for that track day... Cant remember the brand but they were 16X7 3 piece mesh. I Liked them alot...

Thanks for the comments guys. Makes me want to spend more money!

this car is going to be BADASS!!!! can't wait to see how it turns out. where did you get the coilovers?

noah244ti
11-10-2007, 06:33 PM
All the parts for the coilovers are from coleman racing just gotta order the 2 1/2"X8"springs, perches and 2.08"collars. Total was under 400 for everything finished but just make sure you have some good shocks when you make the jump to a stiffer spring rate or else you will be bouncing all over the place;)

A small update on the car... Things have been moving very very slow.
Euro front end. I had most of the parts for quite a while, just didn't have the time. It was a fun day though : )
http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92754690.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92755241.jpg

For some reason the bumper had to be moved up about 3/4" to butt up to the turbo trim. Not sure what trim is used on the eur cars but it must be bigger like the us 86+ trim

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92755487.jpg

The light's came from FCP groton off ebay. they are knock off's but quality is very good, no alignment issues and the light pattern is very very good much better than the stockers...
the light came with the euro amber/clear corners which I hate, so I made some US corners fit with a little grinding of the lense. looks perdy good.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92755899.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92755940.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/92755974.jpg

That is all. Next on the list is some boxed front arms and bigger front brakes. Peace!

wisturbo
02-17-2008, 08:26 PM
That looks so damn good. I've considered the FCP lights, its good hear some feedback on these...
About how much time did you spend on the front end... Starting the teardown to the last bolt finishing her up... rough idea? I dig this thing a lot. Not to keen on the black hood with such a nice color of body paint though..

-Did the fenders match up well to the old paint?
-Do you have any finished interior shots?
-Are you running spacers on the rear wheels?

Keep up the killer work brother!

noah244ti
02-18-2008, 12:09 AM
start to finish took about 4-5hours. I definatly took my time and did alot of other things through the day.
the fenders came off an 87 244 with the same 200-2 paint code and it is a perfect match, i am very happy about that and will definatly be painting the hood in the next few months along with a new drivers door (which had been damaged and resprayed at some point). just didn't have the air compressor at the time and wanted to get it done.
32mm spacers in the rear and 25mm up front.
Thanks!

Not much of an update but just want to throw it on the board :)

I threw an intercooler in the car and went autocrossing with Isiah. This was spring 07. The car did horribly LOL well it just needs a few things sorted out. For starters it was slipping out of 2nd, so I got to steer one handed all day. On my first run my lap belt on my harness got caught under the latch on my corbeau seat so it decided to recline on me during one of the runs. haha.
I'm not done yet. the tab on the old style TPS bent and would cause my throttle to stick at close to wide open, I'd have to push the clutch in and tap the throttle to bring it back down, probably 2-3 times a run. And last but certainly not least my brake booster was not holding vaccume, so after boosting down the straight I'd come into the corner with no power brakes, then within a sec or so they'd kick in and of course my foot was mashed on the pedal and they'd lock up the wheels. Well it was fun but I had a big list of "to do's"
Despite all the problems the cars times were pretty decent. I ran v700 r compounds half the time and dunlop direzza's the other half.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/95744590.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/95744992.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/95745060.jpg

Things I've done to the car recently:
B230 intake, no idle motor. Greddy BOV. Finished the strut bar. Bought some really faded corbeau seats with mounts. Running an oddyssey battery (pc680). and enclosed the trunk for a slightly less noisy ride.

http://www.pbase.com/turboes/image/108007036.jpg

Yes they are faded. HEY dont be making fun of my purple and brown seats! They still feel good:)
So I basically cleaned up a bunch of stuff while I did the manifold Vaccume lines and painted other little stuff.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/noah240t/new.jpg
Just got this sweet cb550 for a new commuter so I can pull my car off the road for as long as I want (or until it rains). Im happy about that, now I feel like I might be able to tackle some bigger projects.

I picked up a low milage 91 b230 turbo bottom end that Im building up for a better, low buck motor. Nothing fancy. 90+ exhaust mani, 50 trim t3t4 megasquirt with edis, K cam, gear and a cleaned up 530. I've been buying little things when money allows. my edis pulley from dale should be here soon:)

You weren't kidding when you said faded seats. Check clearance on that oil pressure sender? Looks like it might interfere with something. Idk.

Thanks guys!
The paneling on the rear is very similar to what was originaly behind the back seat in 240's. kind of like a very thin piece of masonite but comes smooth and prepped for paint. I was going to use aluminum or sheet metal but I figured I'd deal with the extra pound or so for some sound deadening. Its glued with caulk then riveted, I didn't want it to rattle:)

Black virgo's really? LOL I cant stand em. I miss my 780 wheels with spacers, it used to have a nice wide stance with 25/32's. I thought I was doing something smart by selling all my wheels, 780's eikers and hydras to cash in and swap to 5x114.3... you know get some nice wide wheels (17x9) but, I used the $ to put toward my credit card bill which was a very smart and mature thing to do (if I do say so myself)... But for some reason my cards balance is as high as it once was and I have no wheels to show for it... (DUMB)... so once again back to ****ty little virgo's and ****ty little tires, Oh well:(

You should be able to pick up some upholstery dye at your local auto-parts store. You might want to talk to an upholstery shop and see what they recommend though.

I tried dying a seat once (from light grey to dk brown) and was disappointed. The color was fine, but I didn't know you were supposed to brush over the dye with a stiff brush while it was still wet after you sprayed it. My seat turned out crusty and was only brown on the top of the surface.

Went down to the cold dark woods of santa cruz to build my 3" exhaust and put in my trutrac LSD.
Ever built an exhaust in the dirt? Car was about 1ft off the ground which meant countless times climbing underneath, test fitting, climbing out, cutting, grinding, climbing back under for test fit, then repeat.
It was a good weekend though :) Used my friends miller 135 mig for the exhaust.

This is the best I have found, and have used it to complete the black interior conversions of both my cars. A good cleaning and a wipe down with alcohol is the only prep needed.
http://www.autostyles.com/sem.htm
I bought it on the recommendation of of a pro paint supplier and bought it locally cheaper than what it goes for in the ad. He stocked very limited colors though. What sold me was his comment about people with show cars using it all the time. My 242 has been done for years, used a lot, and it still looks very good. Touch ups blend in with minutes, can be sat on in a half hour, and I have never had it transfer to clothing or anything else.

Well I suck at keeping this thread current... :(
In the past 10-11 months my life has gone to sh!t. I have moved back down to santa cruz and am trying to get everything back in order. When I haven't been a ball of stress I've been tinkering here and there with the car, and having a lot of fun getting to drive it. The local autocross season just started up...

Built a 3" side exit with a Dynomax bullit muffler. Its way too loud for every day driving and I removed it just a few hours after finishing it LOL. The full 3" is back on it for now.

Haha, I'll be at davis for sure...

I had no idea K-jet was such a hit! Its been pretty good to me. It never works totally right, but always works! I guess that is a good thing :) Thats one thing I always have wanted with my car... To keep it running and on the road, I enjoy beating on it too much to dig into bigger projects. That might change in the future though. I've got all the MS/wasted spark stuff lined up when I finish up the b230. Megasquirt will be new for me... :(

Heres how it sits now:

Found another set of multi-x wheels and in anticipation of the new auto x season, I ordered some 205-50 falken azenis tires for them. They are great tires. the front wheels are spaced 30mm and the rears 39mm. (I hate tucked in wheels)
also added my group a wing, and a 93 850 airdam. The airdam tucks behind the wheel arch perfectly if you push the bumper in about and inch... Which is what I did :)

I like how it cleans up the bay, but there have been a couple track days where I had to install a coolant overflow catch, just in case.

I was running mismatched 195/60's with 400 tpi! 2 were bfg, and 2 were no name's from the junkyard (yikes!) They rolled over so, so bad. The azenis are night and day better, down at marina :)

Noah car looks amazing with those wheels/tires. Cant wait to see it/ride in it. How are you liking the ebay turbo so far? Im sure the size its self made a difference but other than that?

for some reason my computer thought it was 530 and kept placing my reply half a page up... what the heck...

I've got to say, for the money you cant go wrong really. I've been meaning to get a pressure reducer at the feed inlet (hopefully that'll keep the seals happy for a while longer). I wasnt planning on using it long term. I would never have bought it for that, but it has been good to me. It was a dog when I put it on at first. I played around with cam and ignition timing and that really helped my little low comp b21 get it spooling. I think it would be better if it werent trying to suck air through k jet's metering plate, those are a huge restriction... (Must get rid of)...

Thats what I have... I always just figured you needed an overflow tank...

klr142
01-12-2010, 11:12 AM
Well, you should, I would think... Considering the stuff has to expand? I guess if it's pressurized the cap will bleed off excess(coolant, if you top the thing up) and then will be in vacuum when the car cools down. I don't think it's normal to run without one, unless you have a vent somewhere in the system like early pushrod Volvos.

Hmm... I understand what your saying, and it makes sense, but there are many cars that have no overflow tank and the cap/fill is directly on the top of the rad. I've never had any issues though :)

Had a little project this weekend... $40 worth of stuff from mcmaster and an old set of torque rods

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/noah240t/IMG_4549.jpg

cut and ready for welding. I know I could have eliminated one rod end per side if I would have welded the 5/8" bolt directly to the bushing tube, though I just felt more comfortable building them this way.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/noah240t/IMG_4553.jpg

Stock rods are 15 7/8" eye to eye. I settled on 15 1/4" once I put them on and adjusted everything. Ive come to find out that to really center the rear wheels in the fenders and
also maintain the correct pinion angle, I really need to pull the rear end up 1/2" or so on the trailing arms... Thoughts of re drilling the trailing arms where the bushing bolt goes through, or slotting the hole, or buying bens setup (quite drastic ideas I know) :)... I dont know, just another thing to ponder on

Nice work on the torque rods, Noah. Is the pinion angle still ok after shortening just the upper rods? I've been curious as to whether or not I should get some adjustable ones to make more clearance back there. I was just reading on some swedish site about a guy shortening both the trailing arms and the torque rods to re-center things. I just had the rear fenders rolled further though so I don't need any more clearance at this point, but maybe someday when I want to stick in something bigger than 245s...

noah244ti
01-25-2010, 07:32 AM
Thanks! yeah, I definitely want to shorten the trailing arms. I thought that just doing the torque rods would bring the wheels into the center of the fender, but IT DOES throw the pinion angle way past its optimal 2*. I ended up returning them to near stock length for this reason... Have any pics of how the guy shortened the lower arms? :) I'd love some ideas as I already have an extra set out back...

I know that on the 140s there were two different trailing arm lengths, the earlier ones were shorter with the laters being longer. The 240s might be even longer, not sure.

Noah! your car looks amazing as always!

sucks about the trans leaking, looks like its not that hard to take out though :-P. But doing it in the rain cant be fun.

I run 20/50 all the time now. I tried it once found that it ran smoother and the valves quieted down a bit more. But i have noticed that it takes longer for the car to warm up and if you try driving while its not completely warm you can almost feel the cold thick oil holding things back.

Im going to take one of those pictures and try and make you a cool signature, you dont have to use it but i love your car and im bored lol.

It seems all I have been doing lately is work on my car, and not in the "sweet I get to put on a cool new part" kind of way. Its been all BS maintenance.

I just threw down $$ for a cool new part, and as soon as I catch back up I really want to resume the b230 build. I've got a 530 here, and Im planning on doing big valves 40/46 and see what I can do with porting it. I've also decided to pull the bottom end back apart and go with RSI rods on the stock pistons. I just dont want the rods to be the limiting factor, as it seems everything else on the build will be slightly more wild :) I've got the pully, wheel, vr sensor bracket and a DIYauto harness with sensors and such... I just need to keep moving along.

Nope, pretty sure he isn't, thus giving the sweet look. 225s wouldn't look as good, and they'd be taller making the wheels look smaller as well.

What did you use to seal the tailshaft? New gasket or something in a tube?

Just a 98 s70, super stock... and slow :)

The T5 does not use a gasket, just some gasket sealer is all it needed.

Awesome car! I'm two years into mine (and it still isn't on the road)

Is there another post on your replacement (custom) strut bearings? (I looked but that means exactly nothing)
Could you share more detail on yours? Pictures, what you used for a bearing, etc

Thanks!!

Thanks!

The strut bearings are part of an adjustable camber setup I got from evilgeniusracing. They were made by ground control. heres a better pic of them run on top of the strut housing.

http://r-sportinternational.com/Jonathan/itbcar/itbbeforefire01

I simply set mine up with the aluminum plates under, then cut my own round plates out of 3/16" mild steel with matching slots/holes and welded them to the housings.

The car is ready to go! track day tomorrow, at Laguna seca. I've been watching in car footage on youtube to get the track down/memorized. I should have lots of pics to post up soon. leaving the house at 5:30 am. It'll be long and hopefully eventful day! (fingers crossed)

Depends on who you ask! :)

Id say, at the end of the day we were turning laps at or around the same times. I wish I could go back. I think I would be a little more aggressive now that I know my setup and the track a little better, and had time for everything to sink in.

I pulled the lenses on my lights and painted the grey plastic surrounds black (left all the chrome).

Clogged cat... Hmm must have been the leaded 110 octane I ran at the track... Duhh... I dumb for not realizing this.

So I removed the 3" high flow cat and just replaced it with a piece of 3" pipe. Much better boost response around town, and top end pull. It sounds so great at idle now with the alum flywheel and "K" cam. Sounds way tougher than it is. :-P

New sweetness. pics do not do justice. When I get some more play funds I will order the injectors and FPR. Im going with the "small" EFI aeromotive regulator, mounted directly to the front of the rail, and I've been scoping out the seimen 72lb injectors on ebay... The parts list is getting smaller. Also have this stuff completed. I took a mill and lathe class and got to make some stuff. The roll center blocks were cut out for me and drilled, I spun them on a lathe and located the center and took away material so they would interlock with the B joint/strut tube. The tie rod spacersare drilled for 14mm hardware and will be welded and gusseted. The height of the blocks and tie rod spacers are 1.8". M14 Heims are expensive! 50ish a pop! Ordering soon and want to get this ON.

Drag raced at the track, car was slow. Excuses? oh you betcha haha, boost issues, launch issues and I simply didnt really care to make any changes that night. I was tired. Best run was 14.9 at 12psi. K cam was run straight up, wish I would have set it back to +4*

About those trailing arm bushings though... You really want rubber there so the suspension is able to articulate freely, allowing the inside wheel to maintain a little better traction, etc..

What're you doing with the brakes and front suspenders?

So I have a couple of updates. The 4.10 gears are in the car, and what a pain in the ass it was... The gears were out of a 1041, I thought I had a 1031, I really had a 1030 that looks like a 1031. So I bought a 1031 that looks like a 1030. So if you take anything from this jabber, know that you cannot judge a diff housing by the ridges in the sides.

So shimming was rather straight forward, every tolerance changed when the tru trac and new gears went into the new housing. It just took time measuring, pulling, pressing... and again...

Came out perfect though :)

Im really hoping for a little more POW out of the corners in second, despite the 15" wheels, the car just feel so laggy at auto x with the t5's 2nd ratio (which has tons to do with my engines setup).

Also installed superpro poly trailing arm bushings. I've heard a few people say that I should just use stock ones, because the poly dont allow the rear end to articulate. Im not buying it guys. the poly didnt make any difference in the amount the rear end could twist (tested it with no spring/shocks/wheels)

I havent driven the car with the gears yet, its all done but up on stands still so I can do some front end work.

Right on, im running the pbr metallic ones. They are okay...They should be the same pads(Axxis/PBR), XBGs? Also known as Metal Masters... They're ok, but mine will overheat with spirited, 90%+ mountain driving with the 17"s on. The Ultimate/Ceramics hold up to heat better and feel great, but eat through the rotors a little faster, dust more and sometimes(not typically when lubed) make some noise.

Keep it up!

I just ran my first event with the T5 swap on Sunday, and it did feel like it could use some more acceleration in 2nd. 1.93 2nd, 3.73 rear, 25.6' tires....probably close to 70mph in 2nd. My top speed was probably only about 50ish.

I'm working on a solution on my 244. Probably going to use a rubber window seal and some rivets to hold it in place. My mechanism is already out and usually I just pop the panel off when I drive the car.

im looking to eliminate it entirely, ive considered welding it shut but i want it to look clean so that when i paint the car it will look like it never had a sunroof to begin with

Aaron (aplitz on here) skinned his roof on his 244 to eliminate the sunroof.

Seems to me like you could just weld it shut and grind the welds, no?

yes.

It's not that simple really to get it to fit properly on a panel as visible as the roof. If you want to do it right it will take some heavy modification of the panel and then some skilled welding and some very careful body work.

The sunroof panel is way too small to just weld in, there is just too much area to fill. Plus, the sheet metal is very thin. It might be possible if you fabricated a fill panel with way tighter fit, and were skilled at welding. Ultimately, I chopped the roof off a non-sunroof car, and had it grafted onto my car, following the factory pillar joints.

The stock sunroof panel is supported in place with some 1/8"X1" aluminum. It was a quick job, definitely want to try welding in a panel at some point. I just dont want to yet.

I havent been able to auto x with the new gears in it but I sure think I will like it. 4.10's arent as crazy low as I thought, its still very streetable and fine on the freeway at speed. 2nd gear seems like it will be great though in the cones, feels like there will be much less lag time having put the rpm's a little closer to spool up.

I am having some trouble diagnosing some BAD smoking. Its mostly at a steady rpm cruising from light to light, and a big belch as I roll on at green lights. PCV is looking good, turbo has LOTS of play side to side and in and out (but smokes less under boost?)... Valve guides and seals have 160k on them, however I think the machine shop that resurfaced the head a while back might have hot tanked it, and I did not change the stem seals :(
I pulled the plugs and they look fine and evenly worn (not like one bad stem seal fouling a cylinder). Any experiences welcomed :)

Are you getting oil on the back of your car?

I have a feeling its the turbo. I was getting it too under no to low boost. Something with the turbine not spinning as much.

Honestly just from what you said about the turbo i would assume that is your problem.

No oil on the back, the tail pipe is black black black though. Yeah all signs lead to deadish turbo Im just confused as to why it almost clears up under boost (big puff at shift though). My B230 is getting pushed further and further back, so Im happy putting a little more money into this b21 for now if it needs a turbo.

You just described it yourself. For sure. Under boost, it tightens up, under no boost (or load) it becomes loose and burns off oil.

LOL, got the same one!

Yup it was the turbo, I've killed a couple before but never had it go out the same way as this one. Thats why I was so confused by it.
I also replaced my china wastegate with an atp ultimate gate, such a quality piece compared to the old one. My RD ratiator gave out this month as well, after 7 years of use in my 244, the seams where the fins meet the end tanks started to seep. Not too stoked to spend money on non better/cooler parts but I needed to get these things corrrected before I move on to other things.

Just bought the Eastwood 135 MIG welder too, got the gas hooked up and ran it today for the first time. Im very impressed, quality is great, all with a 3yr warranty! :)

Is it an aluminum radiator? I can weld end tanks on it if you are looking for a permanent solution.

I have done it to mine and it works wonderfully, the solid aluminum ends have seemed to help with cooling capacity as well. Are you running the smaller 240 radiator or the bigger 940?

I want to see your new stuff!

Going up to CapitolA tonight, want to grab a beer? Thinking of giving Seabright Brewery a second chance after their uber-fail last time.

It was actually where the cooling tubes are attached to the inner part of the tank, hard to explain but it would be impossible to weld it up. Thanks for the offer though :) The guys at ron davis think that it was due to poor mounting. I think it was fine, anyway I liked it enough to buy the same one again.

Eric, will give you a call if I go out tonight. Have things to get done but would like a beer too :-P

Its a Ron Davis aluminum one, a generic size with chevy inlet/outlet's. Had the outlet re welded with the correct dia for the volvo lower rad hose.
