Setup MS1 on a V3 pcb, v29 something code (will not connect to Megatune, I don't remember).

Running off a Dizzy mounted hall sender.

Yesterday, after 6 mo and about 6K miles of trouble free running, something happened. First, I made it to work (30mi.) just fine, went out to lunch, no problems. When I left work, there was a little miss but the car caught, just thought the car was cold. I made it out of the driveway, and the car dies, but the fuel pump keeps running (weird). I pulled over to the side, let the car sit for a minute, and it starts up. I made it another 600ft. and there is nothing. No fuel pump, no cranking signal, nothing.

So I spent 1/2 an hour changing relays, checking grounds and feeds, still can't get anything. This morning I brought the MS box in, and on the stim., the FIdle light is bright, but the other 3 are really dim when running, and I can barely only see one of the LED's on the MS box firing. It will not connect to the computer on the stim. (or on the car).

Now, I do have 12 and 5 volts on the board, I checked all the resistors, but I am now at a loss. This is my daily driver, and I haven't touched the board in at least 6 mo., maybe 9.

There are no obvious burned parts.

I don't see any bad solder joints. ( it did run flawlessly for 6K miles)

I would really apriciate any assistance the forum can give.

Thanks,

Alex

Reflash the box and reload your most recent tune and see what happens. Connection problems have always been fixed with a reflash for me.

Yeah - The fuel pumps ran on my box at all times when i had no 12v to the MS box. I blew up a 10ohm dizzy rez, and the 20amp main fuse in the process. Replaced it all, and now the MS box works fine.

You sure you got 12v? Check it to make sure you have 12v at the box itself!

You have NO power to the MS box.

That is all.

Check your 12v at pin 24.

My 242 should be back together on Wed. Did you say your car was running or not?

I do have 12v to the box.

and 5v. The voltage drop is somewhere on the board. I have 12v. to the input side of the 5v regulator, and 12 v. at random spots on the board (checking with the volt-meter).

Any other ideas?

Alex
