Here is a vid I took a couple nights ago in the 242t, it really sucks because it was filmed at night so it's pretty much just a sound clip. No K cam, this is actually an IPD turbo cam (better fo boost) retarded 1 degree. Damn I couldn't get traction for nuthin.

I imagine you'd still get the lumpy idle with LH. The cam is largely responsible for the sound. K-jet cars without the K cam don't sound nearly as aggressive (as good). Though I wouldn't be surprised if EFI might smooth it out a bit. I hope not. A turbo will eliminate the lumpy sound though.

I just tried to do this with my cameraphone, and it sounds like a model T or something.. Barry, I tried, but it didnt work out. Thats the warmup idle, its a bit lower than normal idle, about 700, but it might be what you're looking for.

Its much lower-pitched

My 744 with B230E didn't change exhaust note by much when I changed from V-cam to K actually. lost a little low end and gained a little top end though!

How did it compare the idle with MS?
Similar but different. I had a TB with the thumb screw for idle tuning, and the car idled pretty low, but felt smooth. MS is running a LH3.1 TB with no screw, but the idle is tuned so it's rich at around 1000rpm and it's not as lopey sounding. The idle with MS sounds like a high idle, more of a steady note that would sometimes dip and come back up. LH loped at idle.

yeah b21ft, so it is not your motor, not your compression, not your bore, and i assume not your exhaust (open 3 inch)

But it is a redblock, and as I said, it is much lower and somethin else I cant describe. The note is not correct, but you can hear how the exhaust would sound

i noticed a bit of a difference from t to k, but it wasnt like crazy.

But the lower the idle, the more i seem to notice. And if you have open DP, yeah i think you'll notice
