I would like to add that it was co-authored by Isaac Babcock, without whom we wouldnt have the delightful discussion about cold start injectors 8-)

Some pics of how mine is setup (fashionably two years late...)

http://www.auburn.edu/~howarkd/turbofeed1.jpg
feed line setup, the tee block that I was refering to can be seen with the sender sticking out and the line for the turbo coming out from underneath

see above :-)

You can see the return bung here, in retrospect it would have been nicer to drill the block, but hey, hind sight is 20/20

Oil feed:
(PS, this system failed for me, I will update it when I get a new feed line rigged up.) My adapters are so long cause I couldn't find the proper adapter, so I made this work. And just today it took me 1 minute and 1 question to ask a local store, and they hooked me right up.

Those blue hoses suck....... and I mean it! They're 1/4" plastic stuff from the hardware store, and when they get warm (duh, they're in the engine bay) then get really soft and when there's vacuum to them they collaps. That might be making my boost gauge readings be off, well only in vacuum I guess.

It's a great project! Everyone should expect some hiccups, this isn't a perfect out-of-the-box weekend solution. It takes research, time, patience, and least of all money. I did mine for about $450, it can be done for $300.

that first pic is all there is to it, its open under vaccum, blowing out air (ahhh the joys of megasquirt). with the lh stuff i had it all plumbed up like a turbo volvo (i.e. you couldn't tell a difference between mine and a stock 700 series turbo car... at all, well except the oil feed)

Not quite fantastic pics of my project can be found at

There's lots of info in there too.

hmm anyone for showing how to convert a 16 valve properly? Am I gonna have to stride out on my own?

stride indeed... just watch that first step its a doooooooooooozy. your gonna end up doing alot to get this all to work. a b204ft manifold isnt really much of an option, unless you pull the balance shafts and figure out all the plumbing. its gonna be alot of work...

the alternative to drilling your oil pan. highly suggested as its less likely to back up and leak.

Did you just pull off the pan and drill that with the engine still in place? What tools did you use to drill it out?

good job mike, it asks for a password now.. fix yo shiznit

I used a drill and a unibit to get most of the hole drilled (pilot hole first with a smaller bit), and an air grinder to finish things up.

And a _LOT_ of rags and carb cleaner.

Bumping this up for a question... (or two)

I'm drilling only one hole into the oil pan correct? And that's for the return. What do I use to create the metal tube coming from the oil pan out to the hose? And what's holding it to the oil pan?

http://www.vipinfoservices.com/john/turboswap/pictures/21.jpg

And again, for the oil feed, I'm not sure what's going on. If I am using an oil cooler, isn't there a line for the feed to the turbo?

Then some more questions, where can I get a kit for the water cooling part of my turbo? iPd no longer offers one, and it was $200... I was hoping not to spend more than $100 on a complete kit. Am I taping into the radiator for my water?

I'm sure these are stupid questions but the oil part of my soon to be +T is what scares me the most. (Not my tiny rods!)

Edit: Nevermind on these questions, I figured them out.

I have done alot since then. new intake, oil cooler, new exhaust, b cam, oil cap, catch can, new lines, new wiper fluid container, new lower radiator hose, resistor pack.

I want to know how to get a blow off valve block off plate
