i tried loading high res on my car

flashed firm ware

loaded megatune

no error messages

in megatune i couldn't select the spark drop down column, the settings.ini in the car1 folder should of been fine?

i got a high res file from rob his was version 8, mine is version 10d.

after loading it i could select the spark drop down.

when i crank it, it will catch for a second and then die.

I cant tell if its rich or lean... any one got any suggestions?

when i opened up the 3d tuning window, the map was all messed up looking.

does that mean my firmware is corrupt?

Not sure about your version but- go to Code Config>Codebase and outputs function>Thiscyl(MSns) set this to MSnS^ instead of off*.

edit, sorry I think I misread the first time. try this too:
go to codeconfig>misc settings> and make sure you have a valid cranking rpm set.

If it catches for a second and then dies, however, it sounds like afterstart enrichment is your problem. Start at like 70% (overkill) and then just move your way down in steps of 5%.

did you export the VE tables and then re-import them with the new code?
also did you go into the mega tune configurator and make sure it was setup for the right code base?

hey guys,

on the new msns and megatune you have enable spark from the outputs and configuration section under the general drop down. just like wildman said

wasn't this way with older releases.

I am pretty sure the tables aren't compatible... i got 16 errors trying to load robs msq.

Its really cold out and the car battery is dead at the moment.

I need to hookup the battery charger and play around with settings. hopefully i can get it to start.

why does it have to be sooo cold out.

probably wait for daylight tomarow.

just open rob's MSQ and save the tables you need?

+1

export them and then load them into your new high res MSQ file and then it will auto extrapolate to the high res

DOH!
:grrr:

damn those yoko's

most of the other stuff could find its way to being organized, those yokos are tough to stash.

pile onto the 242 roof, then when it dimples, remove one thing. or put them in your office near the front window. doubles as air fresheners.

i run hirez, you have to change the ini or inc file or something, but there is a bach file to change it, i send all my 2.2 out w/hirez

what trigger? i think that older trigger angles might be off w/the new ign calc.

When I went to the recent version of hi res, my fuel maps were drastically different. Not sure if it the changes that came with the with ver 29y4 that came with the hires changes or what. But I had to basically start from scratch on the fuel maps.

And Ben, like you said in your first post, many of my old maps were messed up after importing them. Or opening them up in megatune with the new hirez configs. So, I used the hirez download that came with a basic starting map, and went through all the tabs and tweaked the settings to work on my old car. Then started with a basic fuel and spark map and tuned from there.

Somewhere along the way with the low-res code, I had to go through an ugly process of exporting my files as XMl's, then reimporting them and fixing a few things. but once that was donw, smooth sailing. And about 3 months ago I went to hi-res and had it running again in about 5 minutes. I like the hi-res, car seems smoother, the wideband shows things to be more stable. Certain versions of the low-res felt rather 'blocky'.

Although I also turned off O2 feedback, which makes the motor seem more stable. probably due to my somewhat iffy fuel map, if I drove for a bit in a slightly rich spot it would adjust the O2 fudge factor to lean it out, then it would be too lean for a bit when I went to a lean spot, and vice versa. With it off it's a lot better. Actually, I just need to stop being so lazy and do some more fine tuning.
