NEW PROBLEM-Why I was rich
I've got ms2 with the latest code going and in my car. Its a b230ft with direct coil control.
All the input sensors are fine and is running like a dog and this is why.
In testing the coil output from megasquirt it is only giving the first three charge pulse to the coil then missing one, causing the FORTH spark plug not to fire, laid out on a bench. That is the pattern it follows every engine cycle and does it for as long as you hold the key.
We have a LED on the coil earth and it follows the same pattern
;} neat testing trick
Changing the ignition setting alters the spark output but it doesn't improve as does turning the distributer. we have successfully set its base timing at 10'BTC
Tried re booting the code-no change
Please help
I'm at whits end now I know why it hasn't started properly.
I've killed a set of sparkplugs to?:{?? -how?
The car is a 4cyl Volvo B23et. It has a dizzi mounted hall sensor which is brand new and when tested with an LED it gives a consistent pulse and on a multimetre 4.7volts. it sends the voltage when it passes through the tabs.
when changing the settings and turning the distributor we can get the spark pattern to be different or worse but never better.
Another clue maybe, is that the spark plugs were new and now don't spark. they haven't been dropped, I think that wrong settings may have killed them. But how? My coil is still alive. We are currently testing with the cars original plugs.
We have double checked the board and it has been properly assembled with the correct hall sensor steps and ignition driver steps.
Also I have code version 2.6 not the latest. I will download that now and give it a go but don't think it should have anything to do with the problem.
Everything still works fine on the stim.
Please help
