I was surfing the web tonight and came a across a website called k-jet.org. I was reading an article about the 240 flathoods which wrote: Description: The lightest-weight 240 hood, and thought by many to be the "coolest looking." A carbon-fiber replica of this hood is available from IPD"
I know IPD does not sell these. Was this product available from them in the past? It would be awesome to have a flathood, not to mention a carbon fiber one, lol.

How much are you willing to pay for one? I think IPD sold them for $600 each. That's about half of what a lot of '76-85 240s are worth. Not that many people bought them.

IPD doesn't sell them anymore because a single hood would cost something in the range of 1500 USD. CF has gone up substantially in price since then.

yeah thats pretty pricey, you never see it tho and i think that it might be worth the 600 bucks. It would be really hard for them to sell them though.

Duane the owner of Carbon Fiber fx used to work for Gemini but his site is down and I haven't talked to him in forever.... He used to make the best carbon parts I've ever seen; I can't imagine he stopped making 'em. I'll see if I can get a hold of him and find out what his new site is.

looked OK when new, but build quality was crap.

yeah it was like 7-800$ new, so no one really bought them. There was one blue 242 on eBay which was a scam that had one.
