Suprisingly, a really nice 164 from my hometown was featured on Jalopnik.com
I've seen this car numerous times around town, and took a pic or two of it with my 245 (ive been to lazy 2 upload it:-P)
Apparently, the one of the Editiors of the online car site is from my town.
This car was probably being serviced at C-5 Volvo near my house.

I'm jealous. I seriously love those. I want one so bad. Especially that style too with the then bumpers and full grill.
To bad I'm in Michigan.:grrr:

There is one in green in MI/detroit area for sale for a few hundred....there was another one here, really decent condition for $1500, near royal oak.

I've seen the green one. That one had The Cancer pretty badly. Where can I find the one in Royal Oak?

My first car was a '72 164e. I miss it! Wish I could find it. Someone told me it is still around in CALI somewhere. Plates are
611 GSX if someone happens to run across it.

Keeping it 100% stock.
There isnt many left around here so in time i good one will be very hard to find.
Only going to fix the little dent ion front guard and give it a general tidy up.
I just wanted to add one to my collection

I'd put a cam and triple DCOE's on it.

Ive done that before, kept breaking gearboxes.
But it would melt the tyres in 3 out of 4 gears.it was fun.
3.3 litre,triple 40DCOE,30/70 cam.......

V-Speed,
I notice the great condition that your White Volvo 164 is in. I to live in Australia in Rockhampton Queensland. I have just brought a 1974 Volvo 164E off ebay Australia. I got a bargain as I got it for only $300. Although I like the earlier 164's as they had the more classical door handles and rear lights. My 164 has a tan leather interior and seats. I do not know yet whether just to get a restorer kit or just replace them (Seats). I am going to do a major clean up followed by stripping all chrome panels and components off the exterior of the body. I will get them professionally cleaned and restored and meanwhile I will get the car resprayed. The car is currently the frog green that Volvo brought out originally. But I am going to stay original and get the code for the factory Red Burgundy in that year. The only real defect on the 164 that I own is that there is a crack about 4 cm long on the dash on top of the speedometer cluster. Would you or anyone know of a retailer that 164 dash replacements?.
Anyone who has any ideas that they would like to inform me of to help in restoring my Volvo please do not hesitate to let me know.

Did you buy it from sydney?
I saw the green one for 300 on there.
I was thinking about buying it just for the wheel trims as they are hard to get.
The dash can be reskinned.
They are getting hard to get trim and body parts for now.
Have you checked out the 'bruce' thread in the off topic section?
