I'm trying to kill about 3 birds with one stone this weekend on the car. Right before I put Sylvanna on blocks, I kissed the back of a truck with the right front headlight. Did very little damage, but enough that the work to fix it is extensive.

What I need to replace is the crossmember that locates the headlights and hood latch (I got lucky that I don't need more). It's mostly undone, but there is something holding it in still. Something that I can't find. Anybody else with a 240 have to deal with this stuff?

Any help is a blessing! I need to get this stuff out so I can remove the engine and mate it to the 372 as well as some extensive cleanup in the engine bay area.

Thanx

Did you drill out all of the spot welds?

Typically there are 2 or 3 on each side attaching it to the sheetmetal that the headlights bolt to, and 1 or 2 holding it to each fender down at the bottom.

Ahhh! Righteous broo! I'll check that out when I get back home and get back to work on the car.

Thanx mate!
