oh and for those that care, 4 years later, a few AZ summers, it still holds 30psi just fine

I didn't know you had a Berturbo, Mike. Or is that rancidponymilk's car?

He doesn't. His fleet is:

Hot side at the IC...is there pipe inside the volvo hose that the ford hose is clamped over? I've thought of that as a short term solution, but never tried it.

Has anyone ever had numbers on these? cooling efficiency? I know there's pressure loss somewhere. . .

Poi did it, I did it, and then I did it for the swap into the 780 ..., never really had that many issues.

on the cold side there is a rubber connector that is on top of that metal pipe and then the silicone connector and that never leaked either. not the best way to do it but it does work

Poi found temps to almost always be ambient ... myself i think i found 1/2 psi of pressure drop @ 20psi

@ least I did not mention your super high JDM compression on the 780

I've got one of those in the car trailer. Mabye I should look into cutting it down.

Is it hard to cut down an Intercooler? I've been looking at putting one in a 240, but theres some body work involved. Is it easier to cut down the Powerstroke or cut it into the car?

Like so:

I cut the crap out of my Bertone to fit a plastic endtank Powerstroke intercooler. I wouldn't do it again, had to go all the way through the bumper shocks, and all the way through the frame rail to the outer edge. The metal endtank one is narrower, but I still would rather have something that doesn't involve any cutting like that.

Unless the PSIC has gone down in price a lot, I'd buy a cheap new IC on ebay for ~$100 shipped. 31x12x3 (24x12x3 core).
