The SCVCOA is having a get together on March 13 at Irvine Regional Park. I have been to a couple of these in the past and there are usually some cool Volvos.

I am planning on going and I was thinking it would be cool to get a few of the local t-brickers together there. 8-)

Thelostartof and Mach375 are you guys in?

Count me in.
My wife passes by that park every day on the way to work, which is a block from the park. About 10 minutes from the house, if anyone wanted to come over after (before?) and raid my garage for spare parts....

Thats a darn good question.

I'll ask Dave B tomorrow. He is the guy putting it on.

BLOWN240
03-02-2004, 11:53 AM
Here is the responce from Dave B:

"Depends on the rain. If it's enough to spoil the BBQ it'll get postponed.
No one wants to stand around in the rain. Last year it rained buckets
beginning at 8 am that morning... of course it was postponed. If it happens
again, next year will be on a later date."

So hopefully it wont rain and we can all make it. 8-)

I don't think rain is in the forecast :x: Weather.com keeps alternating between sunny and partly cloudy with a high of 79. I know how things can change, but I really think it'll be ok.

Im thinkin its gonna be nice and sunny, seein the weather were having lately. What might people be driving, or shall the t-brickers meet in a certain place, put a sign on their car? just so we know who we are, cause im know we havent all met before.
Mark

Ill be driving the car below in the signature...With my newly converted A/C!!!! (i said i wasnt gonna fix it till it got hot, well......its been a bit toasty lately. I plan on being there by 10 or so

I have some signs and stuff that will make it obvious enough you're in the right place.
See you Saturday.

If you are driving thru the park and there is a large gathering of Volvo's chances are you are in the right place. :-P

Good news! Got the monster up and running (though you'll have to excuse the knock--I'll need to ask you guys for opinions on the source). So you all will be the first ones to ever see it since I've done the work (now doesn't that make you feel special?).

I'm easy to find--I'm the one that needs the paintjob, and has the license plate to match my screen name (note: my screen name is not "revo evom").

BLOWN240

Cool, glad you got it runnin'. I got to fix my charger before then, but that shouldnt be a problem.

We'll be happy to listen to the knock, but in all honesty I think a little knock is normal for a Freightliner

You should bring the Volvo instead :-P

It probably sounds like my B26FT and Paul's B21Ft, which I think have a little extra piston to cylinder clearance.
Dave B.

It's an awfully loud knock. Is yours and Paul's really loud? No change when warm or cold, running, or idling, but it is quieter under decceleration.....

dbarton
03-11-2004, 05:00 PM
Can't really say. I'm not much of an expert on knock, although I know a lot of B230's experience it without any real negative issues. Most of mine goes away when warm and I don't think it changes on accel/decel.

Maybe start a discussion on piston/rod knock in case someone out there has answers.

got the wagon washed just for this weekend (that and it looked like a mud-bogger...) the condition of the paint though really makes the whole "washing" thing a little futile... :-( Eh, next step, new doors and new paint!

thelostartof
03-11-2004, 09:05 PM
doh washing the car ... i knew i was forgetting something

yea i'll get the g/f to help me w/ that tomorrow so the 90' can be semi clean before the meet
doh only one more day to live through before the meet haha i can't wait

BLOWN240
03-11-2004, 09:12 PM
Wash car? what does that mean? j/k I gotta wash mine too.

Mike, I still have that tire you gave me in the trunk. Maybe I should clean that out too?

thelostartof
03-11-2004, 10:34 PM
just mount it on a rim .. and u can have a nice one tire fire show while u are @ the meet ... see how long it takes till it pops

BLOWN240

Somehow I doubt the park rangers would appreciate that.

Wash!!! Im gonna have to squeeze that in sometime before i leave..prolly saturday morn :e-shrug: Did get the Mp3 box case done, thats a trick little box i think ya may get a kick outa. Knock eh? like a rod knock? or is it an auto with loose torque convertor to flex plate bolts. That can create a knock that may not change with temp and load, may wanna double check those if its an auto of course, otherwise, i think volvos are known for having bad muffler bearings :-D Ya, its the muffler beraings, they require service every, um ....300 miles? ya
Mark

Oh BTW....my license plate would be the name of this site

Someone hasn't been paying attention :nono: . Ya need to read up on the (long) T5 thread in the articles section. I believe I may be the first with a T5 in a 700. Certainly the first with that and a hydraulic TO bearing.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with an embarassingly run-down-looking brick. I am, however, the only one with an embarassingly run-down-looking interior.
My wash was the $5 Chevron gas-n-wash special :-) . Hey, when the paint looks like mine, that's a $1000 upgrade!
My excuse is that my only goal was to get it to the point where I could actually DRIVE it to the meet. Not to get it to look good, or even complete....
