does anyone know if the V70 interior will easily fit into an 85 740? reaso I ask is a friend of mine of the other side of the state has a totalled V70 that I can get. I only want the interior for my 740, but it's a 3 hr drive one way. Unfortunately, I don't have alot of time for 6-8 hours to drive and cram everything in and get home on a gamble.

If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the heads up.

Hmmm... this sounds familiar.

How so, Nick?

I read that you put in 850R seats in your wagon, which looked nicely done. I thought I read that it was only seats though. Am I wrong?

True. Front seats adapted to 740 racks, custom rear seat made from the 850R rear seat covering put onto the rear seat frame. Door panels were custom made, and the rest of the interior was standard black from the 745.

I think yellowbrick now has this entire setup.

how sick would a 740 or any old brick really be with entirely new interior including instruments and controls

Got a link to what you did in the front? I mocked up V70 seats with the rails and it's 1 1/2" higher.

Rather than start a whole new thread...

I have not had the time to check out the S70 yet. I'm still not sure if the whole interior is transferrable.
(skins/dash/plastics, etc)
With that said, I found another possible option for interior pieces. It's a 92 960 being parted out and had some more questions.

The 960 is a 6 cyl and i have no plans to swap the engine. I am really only looking for interior pieces. Does anyone know if the dash, door skins and seats will be a simple swap in deal?

I know I can use the calipers for the jumbo brakes and it has an e-fan and shroud. Those things are a big plus as well.

does it use the same steering rack as a 85 740?

Thanks for anything you can tell me.

The dash and firewall and bonnet are different to the 7/940's from 88 onwards, the rest of the interior is bolt in, but not the dash. Theres a guide to fitting the ECC from it by Vjet in the article composition forum.

door panels changed too, but you cant tell from looking at them.

The backside is different, which I assume is from SIPS on the later 900 series. I tried to install door panels from a 89 740 on my 1995 940 with but with no avail.

I love the P1 70-series dashboard. Putting that in a 960 would be very nice...if it fits!

cheers
