Okay, flathoods are hard to come by in the Dallas area, but I finally got one and it is in great shape! If you like orange!
I like it because it's flat!

Just thought I would share.....

Late flattie, FTW. The earlier one saves you the trouble of filling holes after removing the dopey piece of chrome.

Ya figured I'd have to do some hole filling, but that can be fun, too....;-)

See my thread in For Sale....

http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=125331

I have been waiting for 3 weeks to see this thing. As stated in the thread, it's a pita to deal with, but this guy has seen so much of me in the last few weeks, I think he is finally ready to get the stuff faster.... It's a guy in South Dallas with a shop. He has alot of stuff, but I have not gotten the opportunity to see his stash of parts. I don't think he wants anyone to know where he keeps it all.

I think an orange hood on a tan car is good, right? It reminds me of the old tupperware cups I used to drink out of as a kid. (That's a reference for us over 30 guys.)

actually the early ones have chrome, late ones dont.
Volvo removed the chrome strip to stop the whistling sound at about 50mph that the strip creates.
i think they got rid of the strip from 78 onwards.

BTW that chrome strip is worth a fortune here, and is definatly cool.

the chrome strip used to wrap around the whole frontend.

I will definitely take much care in removing the strip and hopefully someone can get some use out of it. I will not be using it.

Nice find

I used to think flat hoods were hard to find until I met these two swedish kids and now they fall from the sky every few months or so.(moral of the story find some swedes in your area :) )
