The past weekend i picked up a little job....
ever since i bought this car for $900, the headgasket was leaking, so instead of asking people left and right to help me, i decided to just do it. Me and mah pops.
started 7:00A.M on saturday./
ended at 9:00Pm, with everything off,but the head
Sunday igot the head off.
Monday, cleaned things up around the engine
tuesday took it to the head shop to get machined, then got new seals installed.
Wensday got it back from the shop.
thursday started to put it back on, got it torqued down.
and then today, started around 9:00 this morning and finished everything up around 5:00

This was one of the biggest jobs i've ever done, Besides a few minor things on this and my 850.
few things i've replaced since getting the car, and during the HG:
New emergencry brake cables.
distriubtor
2 engine mounts
tranny mount
timing belt/tensiorner
new clutch
converted a/c
all new vac lines,
boost guage
new breather hose
new IC pipes, new radiator hoses
new radiator

with everythingbut the Exhuast mani to slide off the crack the head bolts off.


Just want to say thank you to turbobricks, espically 740ATL, Chris R, and Bmacc66 for the volvo helpline.
up next is to replace the front suspension, and then my interior project begins, thanks for reading, just felt i had to document it!

But good job. I swapped a head once and failed... I skipped a tooth on the belt and it had no bottom end!!! (like almost none, so slow) But it pulled sooo hard up top...

he prolly did that so that wen he was leaning over the front end during the headgasket change he didnt fuk up the lights.

that just seems obvious, to me.

Congrats. Always feels good to have done a job yourself and have it run well afterwards. I remember the first engine I ever built. When it fired up I was running all around. I think I was on a high for days.

^^ yup brand new bolts,
and the lights had there covers on them, and where aimed so when i leaned over, my huge chicken theighs could lay over them, versus like, breaking them. and to take them off, it was a bitch to screw them on through that small space, once is enough. thanks for the comments guys, im really proud!

Nice one, Doing the HG on my old 940 was what really got me going as far as waving a spanner at a car was concerned, I felt a million times more confident after that.
