I made this Aliminum shifter knob in my machine shop class. It took me about week an 1/2. I was going to put a little red bottom for the OD. I put a set screw on the shifter so the knob doesn't move.

i don't like metal gearknobs because they're too cold to the touch, but that one does look really nice - and a good shape

I used manual lathe, here is a pic. I made 90, 67.5, 45, and 22.5 degrees chamfers then file down the high spots, and shape the knob. Took really fine sand paper to smooth out any defects.

fatmat or dynomat are awesome under the carpets and stuff, makes the cabin so much quieter, especially when you have no resonator ;-)
