Some might remember that I made this thread ("It was cold last night near Corvallis..." (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=124851)) for a particular replacement to my 245.

Said 245:

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/3019/img0015hd3.jpg

Goodbye 245! Enjoy it Thomas!

Anyway, obviously I needed something to get me 'around'

This is the day I brought her home
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/8646/dsc2038pn0.jpg

It does have some very cosmetic front end damage. The main reason I got her though was because all of the important parts are in good shape and the paint shines up really really nice. I already *have* new front sheetmetal (fenders and lower core support) in 189 white that are ready to go. :-D Anyway, here's an upclose of the damage:
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/1604/dsc2041az5.jpg

The previous owner had been taking good care of her by starting her regularly, but about two or three months ago she wouldn't start. After replacing the fuel filter (it was blocked solid), she almost came to life. We guessed that the intank pump was dead and the pickup hose had degraded, as is usual especially in really bad gas. Filled the tank up all the way, and what do you know, she runs! Sitting six years and she's good to go!

White 242s are the way we roll in the pacnw
http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/3008/dsc2081rc5.jpg

We discovered the fuel accumulator was leaking, and the calipers were sticking on the rear and the right front. These were obviously the next things needing attention.

Before:
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4081/dsc2089mb5.jpg

After:
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8389/dsc2087fh7.jpg

So, new Brembos and PBR ultimates on all four corners! Bled it twice to be sure everything was cleared up (nasty nasty old brake fluid) and she stops like a champ again :)

Next on the list was to eliminate the front-is-so-high-am-I-taking-off? look. Its absolutely ridiculous.

Brought the TSWs over so we could test fit as we were lowering. The same day I ordered four new Falken Azenis RT615s in 225/45/17. They should be arriving to Discount Tire on Wednesday. Until then, these cruddy tires on the TSWs will just barely get me by lol.

Front before:
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/1051/dsc2092fr4.jpg

Rear before:
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/7325/dsc2093kb4.jpg

and...the moral of the story?

Nobody should let me near springs with a plasma cutter! :-D

A few after shots:

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/5269/dsc2098va2.jpg

We painted the lower front spoiler to body color...and off to the parking garage. Forgot my tripod so you'll have to bare with me. My camera only performs semi-okay at ISO 800.

Mhmm, that's the way I like it
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/6348/dsc2111ls7.jpg

So hot, look at that asssssss
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4240/dsc2122dm4.jpg

We had an OVT meet today. Smaller one, short notice and lots of people were out of town. We decided to hold it anyway just to not get into the habit of skipping them.

Black and White:

Color:

and two more before the sunset while I was visiting a friend:

Somebody might recognize the BMW :-P

(Wish I could chop out that Taurus )

So anyway, got quite a few plans in store over the next few weeks, other than just the new front sheetmetal. Comments are welcome, but I'll be sure to update as it comes along.

Edit: Thanks to Jonathan and James for the help too btw! :-D

That didn't take long man, driving in style(again) already!
How much did you lop off the front springs? I kinda want that ride height, and ready to be banging the 3" exhaust a bit to have it.
What kinda cam/lense you use again inc3pt? some look a little wide angle and look amazing!

I'd guesstimate about 3 coils off the front and 2 off the rear. Problem is, every car seems to be different. You really should start with cutting 1.5 coils off and then doing them in increments from there until it sits how you like it. :-D

Front sheetmetal is going on so soon it'd be a waste of time to get the trim on. Plus, the lower core support isn't even straight all the way across. I'd be afraid the trim would be too loose and fly off.

Whoops, one double post here:

Noticed that imageshack was resizing them to 640px width. :grrr: I threw up the original 900px width versions of the decent pictures in the main post.

Also, one more from the parking lot at work today. Yes, I know it's overdone and fake. I was just messing around with it. :-D

Plans for drivetrain?

Stage "One": Cometic headgasket, 60/63 turbo, NPR intercooler, iPD Turbo cam, B230 manifold, T5 from the project car (+ 6 puck clutch), LSD from the project car, some sort of better exhaust.

I have every single part in the list above, don't see why it won't be all tied up in the next...two months at most?

Stage "Two": Still in the works, but it will include ditching K-Jet and all sorts of other fun.

Tye, both Adam and I are pulling yer chain about wadding the car up into a ball... I'm sure that you'll be able to avoid killing it like your 245 or Tony's 242... It does help that it's in the most visible color, as long as you're not driving in fog or snow...

Anyway, I found some "meh" condition 6-panel tails at the Pull-A-Part in Arlington, WA. If I can get the backup light lenses off without breaking them, I'll grab them for ya.
