I've been waiting for these seats since November! They came out of a friend's 12 second Renault 5 :wtf: as he's gone over to carbon/kevlar seats in the quest for ever lower ET's.

I got them for a couple of reasons:

First, and most importantly, they fit my lardy arse perfectly. I find them incredibly comfortable for a race seat.

Secondly, they are SFI approved. This means that if I do ever compete in my car then all I need to do is get the driver's seat re-tagged
I tried to get a pic of them, but as soon as I turned them upright this is what happened:

It would seem that they meet with the approval of Mini BB & his dog!

Think I best get them in the attic today, before they become permanently covered in dog hair.

Very nice! Let me know how mounting them goes. We are attempting to put 850 leather seats in one of the 142's, not sure how I am going to do it yet. Put seats in a 240 this week :P It was bizzarely (I am unsure weather that is even a word) easy to do. 142 rails look a tad harder to adapt.

I bought a complete Audi Quattro interior last year (I fancied Recaro front seats!) for 99p on Ebay. At first glance the seat mountings are tripod style just like the 140 ones. I'll try and get a pic for you later, as the cobras have to go into the attic to await their turn to see daylight again!
Unfortunately I won't be trial fitting these for a few months yet, as I only need to sort out the postion/mounting when I do the cage. They were just one of those things that come at the right price so you buy them and put them away for later.

Nice Mr B,

I had some Cobra Suzuka's for the escort about 3 years ago and decided to get rid of them because the guy that sold them to me assured me that the drivers one was a GT version(Read lard arse extra 30mm) but they turned out to be standard items that I couldn't fit in lol. I wish I still had them though because now I've lost a considerable amount of weight I think that they'd have been perfect.

I will be going with some fixed back side mounts in the Scort when I get that far but I haven't decided which though, I do like the sparco Evo 2's as well.

I'm sure they'll serve you will if you decided to do some roundy round as well.

well, if mounting seats in a 240 is easy, get seat brackets from a '75-5 140/164. They adapt more easily to other seats.

140 seats are also quite easy, if done by removing the 140 seat frame and mounting from the old 140 seats and mount it to the seat rails of any other seat, or bolt directly without rails. Bolts back in place as it was made for the car. 240 seats are very easy to put on 140 seat frame, just spot and drill 2 holes as two are already there. I got a very nice set of '92 240 blue fabric seats for my '73 140.

Loving your work Mark! Mini-BBQ looks noticably bigger / older than when I last saw him. That's slightly scary in itself...I feel old!

cheers
