I have a MSD 6AL and the black and orange wire that go to the coil are fairly tiny, maybe 16 guage. Is this thick enough? I thought the msd would require a little more than that. I looked on the MSD website and it mentions nothing of guage, just to try and shield the wire from other wires to keep interference down. My MSD coil wires run right next to my Megasquirt harness. Should I move the MSD wires to a seperate loom to prevent any interference? Also, what are some good ways to shield the wire?
thanks

they are fine, MSD did make them and they work on pretty much every car they go on. I would not worry about it

IIRC, the CD ignition boxes put out like 400+ volts, making those wires plenty-thick

Any advice on shielding wires?

If you wanna feel extra-safe, maybe shield the signal wire going from the ECU to the MSD, but I have run into no problems without shielding on my mallory box
