Just picked these on Ebay.de here in Germany for my '95 945. Remotec 15x7?, not sure about the width yet but I think they are at least 7 inches. The guy told me they were on his tuned 745 turbo he sold many years ago. They need a good cleaning and new tires, but I'm sticking with the same size he used, 225/50/15. Tell me what you think.

Great looking wheels! Just be careful not to bend them by using such a short tyre.

225/50 is not too extreme of a low profile. If he was running a 235/35/18 then i would be worried, but this will be fine!
stop trying to scare the guy.

dont want to bend rims?
keep the profile over 55 if possible...
BUT buy a high quality tire... with lots of layers of construction
something that is performance rated... (like 'v' rated for most of y'all with 'h' being a suitable compromise if tires are 60 profile or greater)
keep the pressures up in the tire... 34 psi for most of the people that like to drive spiritadly
shaggen wagons will probably need more in the rear if you haull (cargo) often
stay away from any off brand that looks and feels flimsy... get a hold of the tire size your putting on... and flex it around... compare brands... get the same size side by each... and see which one is sturdier... if it flexes in that sidewall area too much... youll be prone to bending your rim...

edit... those bridgeston look like they were mand in late 1998... its wise to get rid of them... worn out or not... a bridgestone 225/50r15 will be similar in size to a michelin 215/55r15

ask your dealer as i said for a side by side comparison... and you can see the differance in size when the same size is matched up... and the size of tread that will be on the road when your driving... (very important)

I drive with 205/50/15 on my nissan and I havent bent any wheels yet. Just dont hit anything.

Also, lol at 225/50 being short. I would barely consider my 205/50's to be short sidewall.

I run 225-50-15 on my 244 and they are not short on sidewall. They are alot taller than 205-50-15 and only slightly shorter than 195-60-15. There's PLENTY sidewall on those tires.

Well I've been here about a year and a half and have enjoyed it thus far. I've been very lucky by having the chance to live in Heidelberg versus some other cities in Germany. Best part has to be the autobahn, and the worst is how bloody expensive everything is with the exchange rate, especially servicing the Volvos.
