Is this Shovelfxr from the old board? I have a question about the hood. How flexible is it without the support underneath? Is it still strong enough? How much did the support weigh?

yeah i'm shovelFXR. the hood support (X brace) is more trouble than it's worth. perhaps 3 or 4 lbs. hood will not work with stock hinge springs. very flimsy. if i were to do it again i'd leave the x in, just remove hinges.

I recognize that car color :) I think the ugliness keeps the rust away. Every 240 I've seen with that non-descript tan is amazingly rust free.

It would be great to see more pictures of your home grown coil over set up at some point.

What shocks/struts are you using? What springs are those? And what did the final tab run to make it so?

Is the exhaust in stainless? How much did that cost to hang?

What were you about to do in those pictures?

Regards,
Justin

the stock front strut tubes were modified by tom smith to accept adjustable spring perches. they cost about $175 with core. add to that about $80 bucks for springs. i'm currently running a set of 10" 400lb springs on loan from tom, but i'm switching to 8" 600lbers. i have cheapo kyb struts in there now, as i have a set of bilsteins that i'll have revalved after i have the susp where i want it. the exhaust is in stainless, and tom built that as well. i think he charged me about $150 (labor) which is remarkable when you look at it closely. the h pipe came out especially nice. i strongly reccommend the coilovers for a V8 car. there are more pics of the car rippin it up over on the showroom section.

The most rusty 240 I've ever seen in person was the light tan color of Jason's car. I recall the severe cancer prevented the convenience of carrying small items loosely in the trunk.

it's funny, the 87 which is kind of a yellow/tan, and my 85 which is tan both still shine after years of being outside. no rust on either one.

I am diggin the multi X wheels. One of the best V8 conversions I have seen on a 240.
