I sold one on ebay about three years ago for $450 with the senders, and it wasn't even refinished. I was very surprised it went for that much, sold another one later in the year and it went for $275. Still nice to find one and worth much more than you paid for it I'm sure.

I had one, sold it. It was more cool back in the 80's, Now I just prefer the white faced stock gauges. They do get pretty good money still though.

it was in a 1980 245dl, the oil pressure guage was hooked up via a 3bar sender, i will go back and double check but i am almost positive it was 3bar.

either way i am going to clean it up and probably sell it, i need some buffer money.

takes two seconds to cut the wires, what if somebody wants to install in a car without the proper connectors or something? it is just better to have all wires extended long enough so that installation is stress free.

you wouldn't get a cd player at the junkyard without the harness would you?

Harnesses are essentially standardized on head units.

The most I have ever had to do was change the remote wire and antenna power wire on a harness when I switched brands.

Obviously some of you don't know that when you go to pull off the connectors. 9 times out of 10 on an R sport cluster you break the flimsy circuit board. So, Matt did the correct thing by cutting the wires and preserving the circuit board. If you aren't careful installing the connectors you'll break the board as well. On Dave Shannons web page he tells how he put male pins on the wires so he could install the R sport cluster into the newer wire connectors. He also made an adapter plate that he mounted the cluster on which fit it into the 81-newer dash.
