I bought this to drive while I work on another project too bad its a project in its self. tomorrow I'm going to start to replace the turbo manifold gasket then after that I have to figure out why it runs like crap there has to be a leak in the I/C piping or a bad vacuum line somewhere

here's the project it has a pulsar gti-r motor it dynoed 250hp 250tq I'm replacing the FMIC with a smaller one so there will be a proper bumper support I'm also painting the fenders, and new front bumper. just today I fixed that silliness that it had going on in the rear look at the second pic you can see how it was

I actually found it by posting an ad in the wanted section here. I really wanted a 740, but this is starting to grow on me. the trailer hitch has to go, and I'll probably take off the mud flaps while I'm at it

Oh man, are you kidding me? :-( Sell the 242 to someone who will make an awesome project and get a grandpa series like you were planning. Nobody will notice one of those gone missing, but a nice black 242T...?

good luck finding a 740 turbo with a 5 speed here in pittsburgh trust me you can't. don't get me wrong I do really like it black with the two door, but I don't plan on going too far past getting it in good running order, and any free speed like weight removal, and the air box mod. it already has something the guy called the 40hp kit, but I searched, and couldn't find info it just looks like some kind of manual boost controller.

I'll buy that hitch off ya if its OEM... PM me if ya feel like making a deal.
Oh yeah, sweet car by the way! Those 242T's are quite hard to come by round these parts.
probably terminal 11 and overboost?

I'm getting no boost the gauge moves less than an eight of an inch and the car won't rev past 4K. the turbo has zero shaft play, spins freely, the motor has good compression the manifold gasket leaks, but not enough to cause this crap performance.
BTW I love the push button OD its a freakin hoot

Sick B13! What front end is on that? Stock? Tsuru? I love white SE-R's, not to mention spoiler-less ones. Sexy man.
WAIT! I know that car! You're on SR20Forum! Holy snap! The shaved trunk and all. NICE! Name over there is Brett. haha. On the orginal forum, it was NismoB14SX.

thanks! its real fun having so much power in such a light car it really is quick I'm expecting low 13's to high 12's when I take it to the track
right now its just a stock bumper with a 626 lip, but the bumper is all hacked out for a huge intercooler. I have another se-r that I'm parting out so I'm going to use that bumper once I hook up a smaller I/C. I would love to have the tsuru lights with the sunny four fog bumper, but I just cant justifiy spending all thet money for cosmetic reason, plus I want to have the sleeper look

sorry I'm not familiar with this volvo stuff terminal 11 and overboost sounded like a problem to me ye:) it has some thing screwed down to the inside fender with vacuum lines going to it I'll post a pic of it tomorrow

Is it round, with a dome on top? if yes, that's kjet. and those are not vacuum lines, they are fuel lines..
Terminal 11 switch, is an enrichment switch, with that you can safely raise the boost to 11-13psi.

.heres that boost controller its teed into the wastegate, and runs to the IC piping has wires so I think its some type of EBC I can't quite make it out , but it looks like it says tecalmit on it

I think this may be the reason the car is running like crap. it comes from that boost controller

Shush when you don't know what you're referring to :-P
The "boost controller" you've found over there is usually referred to as Turbo+. The boost will be set to roughly ~7 PSI and then above ~3500-3750 RPM the valve on the passenger fender will bleed off a tiny bit of air from the signal so that the boost rises to ~10 PSI.

Thats your problem for sure, easy fix. Its just overboosting, just replace that hose and leave it alone. I had the same problem when i picked up my car.

I think you may also need some spark plug wires and like you mentioned the exhaust manifold gaskets. Be sure to use the stock flanged lock nuts. The regular type nuts on the exhaust manifold studs will continuously loosen up. Flanged nuts have a washer shape on one side and are crimped slightly on the hex side so they have a locking effect when tightened down. They are good to use on your Nissan project as well. They take the high heat cycles of turbo use without coming loose.

yeah I just got the turbo out all the nuts were finger tight, and there was a broken stud that came out easily to my surprise. I'm guessing I need to go to the dealer to get the nuts, washers, and studs?

That's one source. But you can also mail order them. Also people have used the copper plated BMW version with good results. If you do have to buy them locally I'd check both the BMW and Volvo dealer for prices. Any good hardware supplier should be able to get them as well. Mail order FCPGroton supplies them to me. I've also bought them from Electrofast in PA and from Maryland Metric mail order. They all have websites with their names.

its wired to this four pin connector that isn't plugged in to anything
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8458/s6300294ji1.jpg
what about this wiring it was hanging around the radiator my guess it some kind of fog light wiring
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/473/s6300296ge6.jpg
it goes to these relays in front of the battery
