i asked on their support forums... looks like its a error in parsing with this version of board code.

Im upgrading the board after the site goes up... so it should be faster and cleaner w/ less errors (hoping phpBB 2.1 is out by then)

well, honestly they've never seen it... i've never seen it... but a few of you guys have so i dont doubt it.

hopefully the new code will have indirectly fixed it. (maybe its a mod i did that caused it?)

I've seen it primarily in quotes within sigs. It throws in that alphanumeric junk sometimes, but it seems to correct itself later.

yeah when I view my profile all that crap appears and I have to delete it and then apply the changes every time
