Hey guys -

ITN (Into The Night) Rally Team is running a rally starting in San Luis Obispo this weekend. Please note that this is a navigational rally on public roads and not a race, although "opportunities for spirited driving will abound."

Registration opens at 10:00 AM and the rally starts at 1:00 PM and should finish around 9:30 PM with an awards banquet to follow. Since you need a driver and a navigator, I am looking for someone to either drive or navigate, and I can pay for gas if money is a limiting issue.

No plans for a hotel that night, I was going to just sleep in my car but since the GF will be coming too I think we're camping in Pismo Sat. night. I'm leaving from Sacramento so if anyone wants to carpool let me know.

See www.itnrally.org for details.

Great chance to show the scoobies, mitsus, humvees, and vettes what's up.

Jeremy showed up and rode shotgun with the old lady in the back seat and we gave it our best. Which as it turned out was not good enough. We got good and lost almost halfway through and would have been disqualified multiple times before then if it weren't for our noobness. To be fair we were completely underprepared, showing up an hour to starting time. And basically figuring out where we were and the rules on the fly.

All the same we had a lot of fun, got a few opportunities to open it up. And seeing as how we were off three hours early still had plenty of time to get ****faced. So, thanks for the heads up, Chris.. Next time show up and navigate, that **** is confusing. :-P

its less confusing than it seems. once you do a few, you start to figure out the language, and tricks.
if i didnt have to work yesterday, and today, i'd have been there. those things are so fun.

however, i DO plan on being at the midnight run, and DO plan on doing the stellar luminescence when it comes up again. check their calendars and START PLANNING NOW!!!

be there!
and a tip for next time, multi-pack of different colored highlighters, wide clipboard, several pens/pencils, calculator (if you need one) a stopwatch or two, and if you have one, a GPS for street name confirmation.
