So I'm currently braking in my new motor and after drivin around on a mere 5lbs of boost for a week or so I turned it up. Right now its running 10-12 psi. The car does not have a bov and I think that I need one. Just looking for some advice on what you guys are running out there in the way of bovs. I dont realy want one that sounds like my grandmother sneezing. I need one that is somewhat discrete and does the job. The car serges like a mofo now and I need to correct this. Its a b230 w/a t3 Thanks for your help.

well then you dont want a bov.

you want one that recirculates in back into the intake system, pre-turbo.

Mr. whine. can you explain further.

well you want one that is not too loud.

a bov that dumps air into the atmosphere is pretty loud depending on what type.

a cbv(compressor bypass valve) or diverter valve does the same as an open bov but routes it to pre-turbo...

Since you're running a mass-based system, you're going to want to run a compressor bypass valve, as opposed to a blow-off valve. The CBV will not mess up your fuel, while the BOV will.

The CBV vents the compressed air to before the turbo (decompressing it, obviously), while the BOV vents it to the atmosphere (causing a pretty big rich spike, some people have no problem, with others, its a huge pain). CBV would be better for your application, but a BOV can be made to work.

A bov will work with LH based cars. How well seems to vary. I am getting rid of it because of idle stability issues and going with the Audi Diverter Valve.

So is it the KJet cars where people seem to have an issue with the rich spike? It seems from reading on here that BOV's were hit or miss for LH cars, some experiance the rich spike while others ran great.

I've had 0 problems with BOV's on KJet and LH. Maybe it's my luck of the draw.

Got any pics of how you've got it plumbed? I'm assuming you run it on the cold side of the intercooler pipe right (into the intake)? Excuse my ignorance, but i'm new to the turbo world.
