Well I'm planning alittle meet for all the Turbobrickers in the northeast, there seems to be a growing number of loyal volvo owners around the area so I would be nice to meet all of you.

DATE: Saturday June 7
PLACE: Frankies, Route 6 in Bristol

Yeah I was just gonna ask that. A little closer to the date (like 3 weeks before or so) you should probably give them a rough number of people. How big is the parking lot, i've never been to this place. If he talked to them though then that's great, sounds like a cool place.

Right now it's a 50/50.

That still is possible, but it may not be in running cond at the time. Therefore I won't be able to drive it to Chevy's and I'm not gonna load it up and clog up the parking lot with my truck and trailer.

i was CONSIDERING the direct fit peg replicas from iPD.

today to the SE i did:
-remove stock radio and install alpine cd player
-install sirius sat radio (sportster 4)
-install 2 alpine type R 10" subs with tsunami 2 farad capacitor
-remove SE foglights (one was missing lense, other barely lit up)..will install new ones or ZKW rally lights in place

yeah. and BTW, it has the decor panel too, in great condition.

do it in the hot sun light.. and mist it on with a bunch of coats, you won't regret taking your time and letting it bake, i did my 740 grille years ago and it looked great until it started chipping.

i am going to be taking the front bumper off tomorrow to have it prepped and painted by my girlfriend's father (he does body work), and it will be ready for the meet. i told him to be very careful with it since they are pretty hard to come by, and he understood. now i just have to drive the 940 around for a week while the 744 sits in my garage!

Chevy's remodeled recently and I've been noticing their parking lot has been pretty full on the weekends.
If it looks like there won't be enough space for us when we get there, we should have an alternate spot set up.
Maybe Friendly's (huge lot in plaza and right next door) or Frankies down the street a bit?

Friendly's won't be a problem, there's a big public lot behind it. You can see it from Chevy's so there shouldn't be any problem with anybody finding it.

Just got the Volvo together tonight. I finished up the accumulator mod, got the new (and HUGE) B&M tranny cooler in, and I put the lights/grill all back on. I just gotta bolt down the drivers seat tomorrow and the car will be roadworthy.:cool:

Yes, and it shall have VTAK YO plastered across the top of the windscreen, and NOS stickers all down the side.

Yep. It went very smooth actually. I wasn't able to get one of the pistons out for a little while, but I actually eventually got it out. Basically, if you just organize the bolts (all the VB bolts are different lengths and there's 17 total) and you have a little bit of mechanical know-how, it's very straight forward. I have no doubt I could do it in less then 1.5 hours now after doing only one.

how do you figure? i see 11 on the list so far. (by the way, my friend is coming with me, so he will bring my 940 for me so i can bring both my volvos!)

and BTW, if you attended any of the other meets, you'd realize that 20 is pretty small, at least compared to ikea or something :-P
but NONETHELESS, still worth while to see and meet everyone, shall be a good time especially if we can organize some sort of nice drive.

Well so far my luck hasn't been great. I don't think I lined up the selector shaft properly, so I gotta tear it apart again and do that. Oh well, it's a learning experiance.;-)

BAM! Car's done. Just took it for a drive today on 12 psi and it felt good. Pulled nice and hard and ran without a hiccup. I have a HUGE leak from the return line of the turbo to my oil pan, I kinda figured I would since the gasket looked ****ty. Oh well, I guess the 15g turbo will go in tomorrow.

spoke to my family friend who works at that bodyshop that is fixing and painting my 744 SE's front bumper today.
I was expecting to have the bumper back today or tomorrow at the latest, but he told me that his guy who fixes the bumper and all that only just picked up the bumper from HIS shop 2 days ago, so it looks like the whole process will be about another 6 days or so.
Regardless, it will be back in time for this June 7th meet, and hopefully I'll have a euro plate to finish off the bumper's fresh new look!

ya, definitely. It should be pretty self explanatory, so we can probably even do it on the morning of the meet. Just be sure to start out at the stock level and increase it GRADUALLY. Don't grenade the motor on the first pass because you accidentally set the MBC at like...50 bajillion psi, hahaha!

That is a good price! I bet that one of these guys coming to the meet might have an extra one laying around for cheap.

MBC. I'm running a 4 bar FPR on the greentops.

Unfortunately i'm NOT loving the car so much anymore. It **** the bed about 20 miles from home today on the side of the highway, I was able to limp it off and get it towed back home. Seems like it blew a headgasket somehow (it did do it under boost) as the car is just pouring white smoke out of the tailpipe like you wouldn't believe.

Hopefully i'll get the parts tomorrow or Wednesday and have the car running by Thursday or Friday.

well, talked to the bodyshop today, they had tried to prime it after sanding, but the paint underneath the bumper was so crappy that they ended up sending it back to be sandblasted and start from scratch.
i told them i absolutely need it before saturday (this meet) and they said they will see what they can do.

I'm helping out a friend who got his car stolen and is just trying to re-register it but it keeps failing inspection. The guy has basically no money, and I like helping people, so if he calls me up Saturday, then yes, i'll be there. I'm making maybe $20 on this job at the most, but I could really care less.

And the N/A 240 is better then the Camry I drive around now. :e-shrug:
