Soooo it's almost that time again :run:. This year is the 25th anniversary of our glorious little party and I want it to be bigger, better and all around more awesome than last year. "Official" info HERE (http://www.ipdusa.com/2008%2DIPD%2DGarage%2DSale%2DCar%2DShow%2DSwap%2DM eet/fi-31/). Threads from last year can be found here (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=98463&highlight=garage), here (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=97751&highlight=garage) and here (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=101248&highlight=garage) among other places.

I would love to see as many of you guys there as possible and would REALLY love to have as many of you guys with interesting/cool Volvos to be in the show :oogle:. If you have a car you'd like to have in the show email me directly at camerond@ipdusa.com as I'm in charge of getting all the show cars together again this year. That means you Phil/Adrian/Kyle/Danny/Carson/everyoneelsewhosenameicantthinkofrightnow!
Besides the normal car show, swap meet and everything on sale goodness of that day we've also extended the hours of the show into the afternoon a couple hours. We'll also be raising money for the Oregon Humane Society and should have a couple other fun things going on that day.

Pics from last year: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=100967
P.S. The Pegasus replicas in RWD offset should be here by then too...

Is there an entry fee or any fee of any kind?
Do you have to call if you are only going to be looking at buying, not swapping?

Come to the OVT booth, ask for the associate spiritual advisor, give him $5, and you'll be granted access.

The event is free. You only need to call ahead if you are going to be entering the car show or if you want to reserve a spot to sell in the swap meet.

If I can find a trailer, I can put the HX35 on the side and bring it down. :-D

My time between now and then is pretty solidly booked, so I probably won't have any time to do anything but put it back together, and even that's questionable. I'll keep you guys updated.

It would really be nice if we seattle/NW folks can all head down together.

I'm definitely going in the 142, but, I'd really want to go with a caravan. Not that anything should go wrong... So far that car has been rock solid - starts every time, stops every time, nothing his fallen off, but, there is safety in numbers and it just sounds like more fun.

It all depends on what caravan you want to catch.

Oddly, there's nothing on the website (http://www.psvcoa.org/page-events.html) yet, but the PSVCOA club normally caravans south early Saturday morning. They normally meet somewhere in Tacoma.
I think the Volvospeed/ some tbricks people caravan on Saturday morning too, but I haven't seen a thread yet. Probably leaving from 65th street.
I'm not sure if the P1800 club goes or not. I normally see some of them there, but I don't know if they caravan.

I normally go down a few days early to spend a few days in Portland, but I should be at the show with both cars again this year.

It would be great if we were able to get all of the groups together. The Krispy Kreme right by the Tacoma mall would be an excelent meeting spot for everyone that's going down Sat morning.

I'm not going to be able to make it...I had to reschedule my AF thing to the end of the month because i'm graduating WSU on the 3rd, and the reschedule date is the same as the IPD meet. Some of the other eastern WA guys aren't going to be able to make it, so we are going to try and get a mini-meet up and going. I'm on the highway back to Seattle. I rode with my dad and his lady and they were out to get parts and leave so i didn't get to enjoy the cars or see if we won the door prize. They didn't call Travis Stern did they? I'd be pissed if i missed out on free iPd stuff.

Also, who's idea to bring the cheerleaders?? I want to shake their hand.

It was awesome seeing Mad Max 2 in person. Photos don't do a damn thing for it. I was also expecting to see the super widebody 740 w/ the purple stripes there. Kind of a let-down.

It's all good. I don't see enough love for the 740s here and when the chance to see something like that comes along it's really exciting. I'll see about heading down to PDX for an event. Gonna be hard, though, trying to save money with the price of gas for going to Portland and back.

First of all there were some really sweet rides there. Second of all, holy **** I never knew how ghetto some rides could be. I thought my 744 was pretty ghetto, but some of the 2s and 7s out in the big parking lot were seriously beat. I mean they make Adrian's car look show quality.

And then I drove one of them home, and now I can't hear.

By the way John, I got it running on all 4 before I drove it up here today ;-). Anybody need a body kit for a 744 that has been slightly modified by a curb?

Erik,

Didn't realize that was you... What was the issue?

Replacing the plugs and advancing the spark timing (was fully retarded) made it run good enough to make the drive. It'll be a worthy donor for my red 744 :)

LOL, doh! Ah, so that's why I didn't recognize you (or the car for that matter)...

Anyone know whose car this is? I'll be damned if it's not a spitting image of mine, a Red '67 with polished Torq Thrust's, etc...

The car I'm talking about:

Yeah, I know they're not Torq Thrusts like mine, but a close variation on the theme. In any event, the similarities between the cars are striking. If only red was my original color :-(

His name is OZ and he lives in Oregon City. I think he's more into actually building cars than talking about building them online

He said it hasn't ran yet on the twin turbo system (still building it). I can't wait to see how powerful it is when done!

Its not worth anything if you can not put it to the ground. I think though he has an idea of what he wants for a rear. :P

I finally found time to get some of the pics I took uploaded. Since I haven't seen a picture thread I thought I'd put them here.

As we were driving back to Seattle from the show the guys in the red 1800 were next to us through downtown Tacoma. My dad's fiancee waved and gave 'em a thumbs up. They looked like they were bothered or annoyed by it. :wtf:

Don't quote me on this, but I think he has a 6 speed (Corvette?) transmission, and some sort of american truck rear axle. The car was working fine with the built V8 until he decided to add the turbos.

I thought I saw a volvo cover on the back. I will have to find out his progress over the summer, he is got more done than I do. Looks like it just some tubes and he is done. I sure hope he takes it too the track though.
