May 17: Driving school/Test and Tune
May 18: Autocross
Online Registration to streamline the process, you don't have to pay till you show up. (http://www.axwaresystems.com/axorm/calendar_main.php?curmonthindex=4&curyearindex=2&selectclubid=13)
The driving school typically has a few different parts which the groups of drivers rotate through. There's a slalom, skid pad, threshold braking zone, and a very small, slow-motion, precision autocross to tie it all together. In each section, half will drive and the other half will watch carefully, then switch. The teacher (and other students) will give you pointers on each run and tell you how you did the previous run. We try to group cars into FWD, RWD, and AWD with teachers experienced with those types.

The test and tune is closer to a normal autocross with tons of timed runs and no points. It gives you a chance to practice what you've learned and try tweaking your car for maximum performance by adjusting things like tire pressure, shock/spring/sway bar settings, etc.

If you want to be a better autocross driver, this is how you do it . . . seat time!

May 18 is just plain AutoX.

Both events will be held at the Deer Park Airport, runway driving, pretty fast, no obstacles to break stuff.

I went in April (4/20/08) and found it to be quite a bit of fun with my 245DL NA M47 Bilstein HDs. I had the fastest Volvo there. :-P (read only)

It's a real motivator to upgrade your car's suspension and/or gofast goodies.

Bump for addition of driving school details, so far there are only 6 signed up and we need more :omg:

Go here (http://www.axwaresystems.com/axorm/calendar_main.php?curmonthindex=4&curyearindex=2&selectclubid=13) to pre-register so the driving school can go forward. Select ASNW/Autosports Northwest to find the events.
