I found one that a local realter is selling for a decent price. I have not looked at it close. I'm not usually a fan of red cars, but it looks like it has been maintained. So, if it is a good car, should I let the red bother me, or ?

my red car was hit a month ago, my mom says red is "bad luck", but she's crazy.
I'd say go for it! I'm going to be parting out my red 745 SE. If it needs anything red, and you live close to portland, I'll have it.
what bothers you about red?

It seems like it might be more of a cop magnet, also a lot them seem to fade. Yours looks nice though. Is it not fixable? Also, was thinking that I might prefer a 940, but they are really not that easy to find.

the support beam is bent so the whole car is bent, it needs a new welded in support beam, estimated $3200

Is the red clearcoated or is it single staged?

Single, on the 700s anyway. I know this because I get red oxidation **** all over my hands when I was pulling parts from a red 740

red for sure, then 5% tints, and then the chrome 81 240 roof racks. like mine! i looks like a hurse lol, and i never get bothered by cops. only for RBT's (random breath tests). But seriously, red looks awsome if it isnt faded and polished. id put up some of mine for you too see but im still trying to figure out how to upload images lol

You need to find a decent panel shop. New door, pull B pillar on rack or use Porta Power to straighten pillar. Done. I have personally pulled pillars like that, I worked in a panel shop part time for a while. I am guessing someone did not want the work........
Probably a day's work (remove front door, weld on pull points, pull, grind, fair with filler, paint) for a competent shop.

Regards, Andrew.

Exactly why most TBers should care what color their car is.

Red can look good, but when it fades....needs constant up keep on the earlier 740s, never had any experience with 90+ red. This car was repainted before I bought it, and before the PO bought it.

Just add rims, they make great beaters!

Here's a pic of my old ride, fresh out of the detail bay. Shiny red (i.e. not pink) really is sharp. I miss her :(.

The dots are just the plastic bits from ACE Hardware that I painted with a close-enough paint.

The dots are the ACE Hardware/iPd roof rack plugs. Chris_R's 745 had a roofus rackus on it, like what my 245 had. My dots are still black. Haven't painted them, since I'm eventually going to get the holes welded.

Original paint, 246k miles. Not sure what kind of detailing has been done to it, but I'll have a full proper job done professionally on it soon.
The only part that's faded on my 93' is the wing - which was added in 1997. and even that I'm confident a proper detail can take care of.

FYI - I used to LOATHE and despise red cars until I saw this one and fell in love.

Hmm, yours looks just like mine (I bought it) Mine came with Aries, one of the wills was bent, so I bolted on my Hydras. I really like it as it is kind of unique.

Hmm, the car looks hot. I was wondering about getting V90 door handles, and know I might be convinced. I found a set, I just need to install.
