Can I get the BOV sound from my T25 set up? I'm very Non-Rice so just a small woooosh is all I want. I bought a sleeper series atmospheric BOV but not sure if this is the way to go or if it is even right for this application.

I read about some sort of Dodge block off plate for the stock bypass valve but no mention of this working with the T25.

How do I go about getting this sound, or just convince me to quit ricing out and be happy with the quiet stock bypass valve.

change your intake....

Huh?

Are you talking about the manifold or the airbox?

I should have mentioned it's a 1990 740 Turbo so it all ready has the newer style intake manifold and I have gutted the stock airbox and added some extra ventilation.

Yah, I remember seeing one of those on your car. I bet it was a lot cheaper than getting a real turbo and a real BOV. How do you like it?

Don't care much for the Cone look.deal with it, or build yourself a completely sealed airbox that is closed off from the engine-side, and from the top side. kinda a la ARC airboxes: http://www.maxspeed-motorsport.com/catalog/images/ARC%20BOX%2002.jpg and duct in cooler air from behind the bumper or underneath

I guess I didn't ask the correct question. This is not really about intakes, it's about BOV's.

Can I run an after market Blow Off Valve along with the bypass valve that all ready exists on the T25? Seems redundant, I think I read that you need to disable the T25 bypass valve when using another type of BOV. Keep in mind that I don't know much about this stuff but want to learn. Just want the BOV sound man.

youll need to block off the CBV to run a BOV.

I guess I didn't ask the correct question. This is not really about intakes, it's about BOV's.Well, you said you mostly want the sound, and opening up the stock intake one way or another more will allow you to hear the stock CBV operating more loudly.

Or you can leave the stock setup, block off the CBV and add a blow off valve of some sort, too.

Thanks Kyle, I didn't understand the connection between the blow off sound and the intake box.

I have gone as far as I want to go with opening up the stock intake box, It's gutted and I cut a few 2" holes and screened them to keep most crap from going in.

Guess my question now is how to disable the stock CBV, or if that is even a good idea just for a little sound?

The block off plates I have read about are not for the T25's.....

You have to get rid of the stock intake box and go with a cone filter. That is what I did on my 90 745 turbo with a T25 originally. With the cone filter you will hear the turbo spool up, which sounds nice, and then the blow off sound when you let off. The stock air filter box muffles the sound so you can't hear jack. You have to get rid of the airbox. I still like the sound that T25 made compared to any of the other turbo's I've run.

Hah... no, I never had one of those. It seems to be the popular answer though to those who want a BOV but have the problem of making them run rich (an S40 T5 thing I guess...).
