Vaughan Meet (IKEA parking lot)

We are organizing another meeting on the 3rd Sunday of September in the parking lot of IKEA in Vaughan 6pm-10pm.

Does Ikea already know that you're going to be there?

I imagine they would be cool about it considering Volvos are Swedish, if anything it'll draw more customers. We didnt have to contact Square One management at the last meet. Do you think they would have a problem with it?

I just checked their timings and they close at 6pm on Sunday, so basically the lot is going to be pretty much empty :)

Granted, I'm unfamiliar with Canada's laws...but around here that's considered trespassing. And being that I've put so much into the Ikea meets here in the states, I'd hate to see a minor incident on your side of the border cause problems for us in the future. You need to understand that going through the process of getting permission to gather was part of the reason our meets were so huge. Volvo owners drove for hours to come to them because Ikea allowed us to be there. And another part of the deal was that we were an exhibition for Ikea...they even put it up on their website.
I urge you to do yourselves and everyone else a favor, find out who the 'public relations manager' is for that Ikea store and simply ask them. Explain to them how having a bunch of Volvos grouped together on their lot might help promote their Swedish pride. Be flexible and agree to meet on their terms. The worst thing they can say is "no". It's a much better alternative than risking trespassing fines.
