non-Volvo MS question

I'm trying to setup my X1/9 to run with the VR sensor in the distributor feeding RPM signal to MS2Extra (V3.0 board) (I get a good signal while craking) and MS2Extra triggering the coil.

I am able to get fuel and spark, but they are not happening at the correct times. The distributor's VR sensor is a 4 prong, not missing any teeth.

What are the proper Megatune settings for this setup? I see the section in the MS2 manual about lighting up the middle light, but I can't seem to determine if that is only applicable to hall effect or not. I wasn't ready to do ignition yet, but since my stock module is dead, I don't have much of a choice.

I changed the trigger offset angle/offset to 0 and it tries to start. It coughs and sputters but just won't keep running.

I did notice the RPM signal will occasionally jump to 10,000 or so even when the key is just in the on position. The triggers the pump and MS dumps fuel in the cylinders.

Not unless you feel/hear them. Probably just noise.
