my guess is you fixed the 760 v8, did a burnout, and broke it:lol:

sort of, i was brake boosting to see how it would launch and as soon as the turbo started to spool it broke the spider gears.

that **** is probably from '83, i have a spare diff out back i may swap in.

nah, an 8.8 will break just as fast with that kind of torque, unless it gets built up, which i don't have the money for.

i will probably go for a newer 940 locker or the spare diff i have out back. a fresh junkyard diff should last a good 3 or 4 months at the least.

find super-tall gears like Asleeper did. 3.31? That'd be nice

??????? um an 8.8 would be a better choice over any volvo diff. i suggest u go to a junk yard and find a 88 turbo coupe 8.8, they come with 3.55 gears and can handle plenty of power.

Yeah, but as stated he doesn't have the money or the 8.8

And, chances are he'd break it. . .

i did the same thing in my stock diff...... went g80 (out of a 940) never looked back

Yeah I think you'll be fine with a G80 or Lincoln locker. Either way volvo rear ends are easy to find and swap on the cheap. If a junk yard rear lasts 4-6 months you've gotten your money out of it with that kind of power. Matt you know what your doing.....

matt, i have a cheap 3.54 locker if you want it. i'll be in nova tomorrow afternoon, could bring it if you want.

See, the wasps were holding the rear end together. Without them, it just couldn't hold up.

Looks like you will need some dental implants. Do you have dental insurance?

Unfortunately, when that spider gear let go it looks like the end gears and ring gear also got whittled down some.

Gonna have to change the guts out. :grrr: BTDT. bummer.
Time to get to work.
