Did a bunch of awesome stuff on wingnutty's new 76 242 :)
swapped a junkyard 530 turbo head onto the 76' with twin dcoe 40mm's :) (b230f bottom end)
Put in a b-cam, with adj. gear.
just waiting for it to cool down so we can re-tq the headbolts and put on the sweet red valve cover :)
this frickin' thing sounds mean as hell with 2" extractors into 3" collector....
We just picked up a 3" collector back system from the JY ;)
Ah man, this thing sounds mean with the dcoe's!

40 dcoe are to small for your engine, need 45
DecalServiceBrett

really? there was some pinging on the low end. might be the timing, might be fuel.
gonna install wideband and monometer.

fuel for 90% sure, 40 dcoe ar good for a 1.6 or 1.8 engine not for your 2.3L engine.

yeah, i'll check the AFR's
it pings a bit on the low end, maybe its too small, or maybe the timing is too advanced
hmm.

they are fine...
45's are a bit bigger. if it needs more fuel you can just rejet.. ask me anything you need to know. i have these carbs and a have had them apart to nothing.

It's gotta be more air than the single SU on the B21A, right?

Check the idle jets, post numbers.
Also, yeah 40s are small but what chokes are in?
Really 45s are too ideal for rally 1600-1800s, 48s on 2 liters has been the norm since the 70s in the rest of the world.
Of course it might help if there was a cam in the car with some lumps rather than pimples.
