As some of you know, my day job is as associate editor of Jalopnik.com. I'm out covering the Detroit Auto Show right now, for the last day, and was definitely there for the launch of the Volvo S60 Concept (http://jalopnik.com/5128933/volvo-s60-concept-revealed-live), which previews the next generation vehicle. If you have anything on the show floor you want to see lemme know. You can follow our Detroit Auto Show (http://jalopnik.com/tag/detroit-auto-show/) tag for what's happening.

The S60 looks like a Peugeot...

Yes, I hate new cars.

There have been many cars in the past with no b pillar. One of note would be the Renault Avantime. I'm not positive, but I don't think it had a horrible crash test rating.

Thanks for the info on the Volvo side of the Auto Show. I wish I could be there this year, but sadly I cannot.

Hahaha! I actually own a B-pillarless car : BMW e9 coupe. You don't want to know the size of the A and C-pillar either.... They are flimsy!
My worst nightmare when driving that car is getting T-boned and subsequently having the car role on it's roof....:omg:
That would be 100% game over...
