We followed the Satnav for some of our journey that day, she took us the "most direct" route, which turned out to be fun, we drove about 100 miles, maybe half of which was single track lanes up hill and down dale.

We got a bit stuck here, the snow was a week old and was more like a giant slush puppie tipped on the road. It took a bit of kicking with my wellies on and a few attempts to get through.

Valance made a good snow plough..

The car ran sweet, no problems, though I will have to fit a rear silencer before we go touring in the summer.

Great pics Mike.. looks like a nice place to visit. 245's looking good too, like what you've done removing the trim etc, looks like a much earlier model. Will look even better with a rear bumper ;-)

It was fun indeed.

Just went to the offy in the dark and noticed the instrument lights are out on the dash, had a quick check of the lights all round and the rear side lights are out too!

I need to have a better look in the morning when its light but I think the fuses are ok?

Great pics. I probably would have picked different tires for the snow. Glad you made it to the top!

MICHAEL! STOP IT!

At my primary school the 4 'houses' were called Abbey, Beacon, Castle and Monument. after Dunkeswell Abbey, Dunkery Beacon, Hemyock Castle and Wellington Monument. I was in Beacon (I was born in Hemyock).

Porlock Hill is the one where the Lifeboat crew carried the lifeboat from Lynmouth, up Countisbury Hill, over the headland and then down Porlock Hill to launch it as the seas were too rough in Lynmouth

Holy craptards!!!!!!!!

We were in a place having tea at a place called the greenhouse tearoom when we noticed a large oil painting called "we will launch at Porlock" it depicted a whole mass of people carrying "what we guessed was a lifeboat" through a dark stormy night.

It must be 10 miles from Lynmouth to Porlock including that huge massive hill, countisbury hill.

You live an learn hey.

That's some nice picture that you have! Must have been a nice trip. I would like to do a trip to the U.K. and see that kind of place in face, unfortunatly no chance to do it with my volvo.

I do now,

Looking on youtube there is a stage up porlock hill, but they take the toll road (more windy and less steep than the main road we took) but I get the picture.
