I know Fige has probably worn everyone down, but I still have to pick wheels for myself.

I know people keep saying steel steel steel, but I don't want steel, Well at least I can't find steel and I am not going to pay to have mine widened.

So what do y'all think of these:

I talked to the guy tonight and I think I can get the price down, maybe 150. They still need rubber, but that should be easy. I also need to double check the set-back, but they are RWD.

Volvo center caps of course.

alright I passed on them.

I'll leave it in the hands of lady luck. My next trip to the yard I am bringing something home, anything. At the very least something for the rear.

brakes locking up?

Yep.

Only when I slam them, but still. The car is headed for inspection sometime this month, which means a 30-0 stop. It won't pass if it locks up immediately.

I emailed the jag guy and said no thanks, unless they came down to 100 for the set. I'm sure he'll pass, but if not I'll use them till I come up with something else.

Man you will love new wheels and tires... :) I got 195's right now... ugh. Car feels like it's on rails compared to before.

Especially the set on the right. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/1033219130.html The only question I have is the center hole clearing the Volvo big hub. Would need a test fit for sure. The spacing is correct.

Snooping around a Mustang Forum I found this;
[QUOTE]
The mustang is a 5x114.3 (5x4.5) and has a 35-50 mm (high) offset with a center bore of 70.30.

The 300 is a 5x115 (5x4.53) with a typical offset of 15-20 (medium) and a center bore of 71.50. [QUOTE]

Looks a little off on the bolt pattern.
5x115 ?????
The centerbore is plenty big on either type.
140's aren't hub centric IDK about 122's but I doubt they are either.

Has anyone looked at the stock steelies that came on Toyota Previa minivans from the early to mid 90s? I think the bolt pattern is correct, but I am not sure of the offset. They're round hole steelies, and I believe that they are 15x6.

Or you could get something like these:

there is no shortage of steelie options the problem is finding the right offset and bolt pattern.

I recommend getting something bigger than 15 to fill in the rear well.

many years ago I got a set of 15X6 Torq Thrust II's for my PV.

And after about 6 months I started kicking myself for not getting 16X6. Or 17X6.

I'm glad you passed. I was put off by how much these 16s weighed. Don't know how much but seems at least twice as heavy as the Ranger wheels I decided on. These are the police wheels and are highly prized by the local demo derby crowd because of their toughness.

Yeah, I know. I thought he needed some positive reinforcement.

My other fun car is a 914. They came stock with 4 lug wheels. People convert them to 5 lug, like the 911s. In the 80s, Porsche equipped the 944 Turbo (nee 951) with aluminum spares. They look like this:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads12/944_Porsche_Spare_PN_951_362_131_001201320040.jpg

These are 15x5.5 and crazy light (11 lbs). If there was only an option like these!! :)

Steel wheels look better than those. Keep looking, you can find wheels that look better than those. Just be patient.
