I absolutely love this site, and trust your guys advice as if it were written in the Bible. I do recall seeing something about donating cash for maintaining the website and the such...is this true? If so, where do i send the dough?

Thanks!
At this time im only paying $25 a month for hosting (and moved turbobricks over to my main acount), and since we no longer have to pay exboard, right now theres no additional cost and we've got i think a hundred and some in the tbricks bank - have to check with Garrett.
Pretty soon i think we're looking at moving tbricks off to its own hosting by itself. this month alone we transfered 18.2 gigs of data between the site and board... this package only has a 30 gig limit, so when the new site comes out, i suspect we'll hit that limit in 20-25 days and then the site will be temporarily shutdown till the end of the month... which would be bad, i think a lot of us would go into shock if we didnt have the board to read all day ;-)

The last $76 went towards the last three month period for ezboard. I chipped in another $13. So the chest is empty. As far as I'm concerned, you can just mail a check to Dana. He's the only one paying anything to keep the site up, and he's donating more time than anyone for the upkeep of the site (he's the only webmaster). We've talked about fundraisers and donations in the past, but we've yet to put them together.

yeah, it will probably link to my paypal thinggy (i upgraded to accept credit cards now) i just want to be able to track it through the usernames from the board...
reason being im going to try any give you something for every dollar you donate, like buying "points" that you can "spend" to get things like a custom title, maybe a photo gallery of your own, adding maybe smileys, i dunno... all in the works... wont be for a while

After that eBay/Paypal thing posted the other I've become leary of using those "services". I will be avoiding them for the principle of the thing so it would be nice if there was another option for sending donations over the 'net.
Thoughts?

well the problem w/ setting up something on this end to accept creditcards would be that i'd have to have a creditcard machine and account for it. Means i'd fork out fees and line charges and such.. not something i'd like to do.
its probably going to be paypal, or mail checks/MO when it comes down to it.
"But if you offer all the cool stuff for points based on cash and i dont want to send anything or dont have anything to send... thats not fair"
well there will be other ways to get your "points" as well. Writing articles being the biggest one. which IMO helps more then the cash does. So never fear.

The almighty dollar! Holla!
Can we pay you in parts? I'd love to go to wal-mart, get some diapers for my kid and try and pay the check-out-hoochie with a 240 52mm Volt meter and bezel.

Dana , perhaps we can auction the MBC for the website !
I think where people put links to something good that should be put up on the site
Like the FAQs , and also links , im up for writing some articles , ive got an 850 front i want to put on my newly acquired 240 , that could be a good article .
Links im talking about for instance would be the ones about octane booster

Re: your new articles.
There are already a lot of articles written, whose titles on the "Mods" index page, that for some reason are no longer available. Many broken links are there. But oddly, some of the articles that no longer have HTML links do still exist on the site. I'm thinking particularly of the Phil Bradley article on ignitions. The link is dead on the Tbricks page, but the article is still there if you know where to look: http://turbobricks.saliv8.com/mods/hpignitions.htm .
I wonder how many of the other Mods articles with broken links are still there. Very odd...
Maybe when Dana gets time he could just restore what was already on the website, and there wouldn't be such a need for as many new articles.
With better FAQ links on the web site, there would be fewer repetitive posts on the forums.

many were pulled due to... err... political issues...

yeah, we'll have to literally rewrite using old info and addd new updated info for all the ones you see "disconnected". I suspect we'll have quite a few articles to add pretty soon.

Can you explain that a bit without opening old wounds? I don't understand why anyone would want their own articles taken down. Or is it an argument about the accuracy of the author's conclusions?
It would have taken a fair bit of work to write an article, so I can't understand what kind of politics it would take to make an author want to kill their own work.
And Dana, when you are re-doing the Mods pages, please put the remains of John Bertram's old APC website on the Tbricks site. There was an archive link posted in the forum a month or two ago. Might be a good idea to "site suck" this thing for Tbricks while you have the chance, in case the archived site drops off the web.

It's old issues, and going into details of what and why really does not change anything so it's better off just to leave it I think. They were actually due for a little bit of updating anyways.

"please put the remains of John Bertram's old APC website on the Tbricks site"
yup, already "ganked" and ready for someone/me to compile it into a fairly robust article.

I thought of a way people can help us out w/o spending any money....
at the bottom of the board is the link to our current host (will be until this summer when we move over to a new host). I get referrals whenever someone signs up through that link... http://www.liquidweb.com/?RID=saliv8 is the URL to use.
If anyones looking for webhosting for cheap, or knows someone who is looking to setup a site.. feel free to send them in with "saliv8" as a referral id.
