I was driving in down town Seattle yesterday when I saw what looked to be a late 80s 240, as I approached, it had strange badging, when I got close enough to read, it said Volvo on the left, and on the right it said 240 with the word "Classic" directly below it, in the same type of font. I have never seen this before, could anyone fill me in. Thanks

They put that on a the 93 240's last production year. They also had ABS breaks, and air bags.

the 240 classics werent all the 93 models. only the last 1300 of them had the classic badging i believe. theyre also numbered, 1-1300 (duh). ive seen a couple on the road before, very nice looking cars, the wheels were also limited iirc, but heavy

The car will look much like my SE. I think they also have painted mirrors... and a few other things, but they came with all the features possible.

The SE rims are 14x6 and seem to be really light. I should be able to get a good weight measurement of them when I get new tires this late spring/summer.

if you have the chance to look at the dash of a "classic" 240, somewhere in the middle it shows what production # the car was out of 1,300 total ever built (I think the # is 1,300)
when they go up for sale on ebay (seen one about 3 months ago), usually the owner displays that # in one of the pics.

That number panel usually is where the small clock is in some older 240's.

240 classic is a nice car, but not all 93s were badged "classic", some were just 240DLs, it had plenty of gadgets compared to a 240DL. I think the 240 SE uses teh 240 multi X wheel that is 14x6, the classic I saw had the 780 multi X wheels which are fairly heavy with center caps, but they are nice looking and 15x7.
