Basically perfect interior. Tragicbox is dead. two dings on the outside.Straight rust free body. Trying to get it to run tomorrow :)

oh and he got the MR2 also.

Lucky SOB. Especially at the "price"

I wouldn't be that jealous, 164s are like picking at scabs, we all get the urge but it isn't that much fun or that that useful.

Don't get me wrong, I kind of like the 164, but whenever I actually own one; the ultimate conclusion is that a 544, or 120 or 144, or 240 is a superior car. Which isn't really what Volvo set out to achieve.

I love the nose, but the overall execution of the 164 is bloody awful.

Looking into putting an m410 in it.... if we don't find one, perhaps an attempt at a b230FT conversion or something similar

Where's the fuel pump located on the 164? I've been pulling parts from a '75 in a wrecking yard but I haven't looked for that.

Is it a mechanical pump on the block like a b18/20, or does the six require more than a dribble of fuel each decade?

high pressure fuel pump.

It's in the back of the car right next to the gas tank. basically below the fuel filler cap

Same place as the 140. If I get back out there I'll check to see if it's still there and grab it.

eh, i'd probably play with the MR2 more then the 164...Like someone else said, you can't really do anything with them and they aren't that much fun to drive. PRV K-jet FTL.

Cant modify a B30? Thats ludicrous, there are so many parts out there for the B30 its not even funny.

First of all. It's Djet. Second of all. Not a PRV (probably one of my favorite motors just with two more cylinders), third of all.... you can do lots to it.

Mr2 is not supercharged. Yeah i'd be all over that too.... but it seems like a bitch to work on. MR2's eight 2700lbs. and have 116hp. lol
the 164 has 160hp... but not sure how heavy they are.

There is one on Ebay, a 75 parts car in Salem Oregon..also saw one in the midwest awhile back on Craigslist. Indiana I believe.

Its closer to 2400lbs. The second generation mr2's are about 2700

What year? I heard that the '75 164 had a 240 body from the windsheild back.

I bought a '75 164 for $75, solder a joint in the electronic ignition box, and sold it for $700. The guy drove it for years, and never put a dime more into it. Don't know if he still had it or not?

I would replace the engine/transmission with a B230(F or FT)/M46 if I was you (you would have to do something about the front springs). Parts are cheap and plentiful.

Yeah I source a COMPLETE m410 conversion kit, but that's gonna run about $750....
the engine swap is a good possibility. the 164 aren't wider in the engine bay than the 140's are they?

If it stops raining here I'll go measure for you. Longer for sure but probably close in width.

Think the hood is like 10 inches longer. Or was it MM? Not any wider thou, just longer. B30's rock, the 164 gets sidesways pretty easy even with an autobox. Fear im gonna kill mine soon.
